There are quite few programs on. this one starts also 8pm, on ch4. I will watch this one after truckers. They will test different diets and see which ones that works the best. Including the popular 5:2 diet.

I'm watching it, could be interesting as they're divided the dieters up into categories from crash dieters to life changers

1. Drinking nothing but lemon water for a week.. Fuck that!

2. Eating nothing but fruit and veg for a week... Do-able but sounds boring as fuck

3.. I know people that have taken Orlistat before..

Someone at work lost a shed load of weight on it. I was intrigued but they said it was because they were so paranoid about the effects they cut most fat out of their diet, which is actually what made them lose the weight.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I've sort of being doing the 10 hour window thing for the last week as I read it is a way to help your body manage insulin. I'm not diabetic but I'm fifty and fat.

If it does help lose weight too that would be a bonus.

That's what I would have done, couldn't risk it otherwise.

Have they kept it off? I mean, did they learn new eating habits and make lifestyle changes or just go back to high fat foods after coming off of it?

Put a bit back on but learnt new eating habits. I think the paranoia made them stop and really think about what they were eating, especially snack wise.

Hi all, I bumped into someone was in school with a long time ago, I was shocked to see what had happened to him over the years. He told me he was a lorry driver and ate shite food all the time. he had lost and eye to diabetes and had a triple heart bypass from living on snack food. all this at 48.

this was one of the reasons i changed my lifestyle. Sugar and crappy food all gone. Ive gone from couch potato to running 5k every week.

eat less crap and exercise or bad shit will happen

S.

All you need is regular exercise

Calculate you foods each day

60% cards 30% protein

Don't worry about fats if you have it right fats take care of its self

Your body does go into starvation mode and will start to store fat.

If you have say 1 Mars bar once a week, you then trick the body into burning fat faster again

I think that's the point of it! I was prescribed it a number of years ago.

I won't be using it again.

I didn't see the show but the successful approach is the one where you sustain the loss. Otherwise it's an invitation to yo-yo diet, which is unhealthy.

Research evidence points to a combination of diet and exercise change to be better than either of these alone as the most successful for sustained weight loss.

And remember that your basal metabolic rate reduces as you lose weight. In other words you have to constantly consume less to keep a stable weight and even less than that to lose anymore.

Once weight is off you can't expect to eat how you did before without gaining weight back. It's a bummer.

Watch the recent episode of "trust me I'm a doctor". It had a special episode concerning exercising and gimmicky food aids.

Bottom line - females burn off more fat exercising after food, men before. If you have enough protein in diet, protein shakes are superfluous. Detox diets destroying free radicals are an expensive waste of time due to body's own homeostasis.

Go watch

I agree with the detox thing, overpriced gimmicks when your body flushes toxins naturally anyway.

Protein shakes are mostly pointless for an average person but for someone who is trying to eat a large amount of protein every day to hit macros they can be useful and cheaper per serving than buying meat/fish etc.

I can't exercise after food it makes me feel sick.

You don't need all this shite for the vast majority of people all that is needed is a life style eating change and that is impossible unless you can mentally do it, stick at it long enough and all the junk we eat will not be desirable but it takes a long time and of course more exercise.
