.... ah those words must reverb longer than Roger Daltreys mike lead.... I bet both he and Pete must be glad they didnt go the same way as Mr Entwistle or Mr Moon after all. Their anthem of 'life is only worth living if you're young' is coming back to bite them on the arse now!

So what other song lyrics make you smile at the irony or indeed prophecy if they actually came true... I'll start off..

Suicide Blonde INXS

ooh you guys you know some spooky lyrics so far! Over the Rainbow has to be a deathwish song though - loads of those who have recorded it died relatively young Judy Garland Eva Cassidy Glenn Miller et al!

Ritchie Blackmore does a brill version... he better not pop his clogs!

Alanis Morrisette ;Ironic'

"An old man turned ninety-eight/He won the lottery and died the next day." isn't ironic

"It's a black fly in your Chardonnay." isn't ironic

"It's like rain on your wedding day." again, not ironic

"It's a free ride when you've already paid."..ho hum

"It's a traffic jam when you're already late."..See above

"It's meeting the man of my dreams/ And then meeting his beautiful wife." It makes sense to assume that all eligible men are already taken,so,not ironic

Ironically, her song 'ironic' contains very little Irony

I'm not overly keen on her as shes a bit irritating, so haven't really studied the lyrics - but you're right its just a string of unfortunate incidents. A fly in chardonnay would improve its taste....
