I have to take the cats' food bowls away. One of them is having surgery tomorrow and mustn't eat after 10pm tonight.
They're used to having dried food down all the time. I fear it may be a long night and an even longer morning tomorrow. |

"Cats hold grudges they will remember this slight to the very end. "
I'm not sure. They're Ragdolls and they lack the malevolence that most cats are capable of.
They do, however, have big blue eyes and they do guilt trips really, really well. |

"How hard is it to muzzle a cat ?
Oh goodness, they might well hold that against me for life.
And they still have claws."
Ah the secret is to put their lounge shoes on first |

My dog is the same.
He can appear to be in a coma like sleep
Then one rustle of a sweet wrapper and he is alert and ready to go in a second, dribbling within two |

"My cat Greebo used to lie on my chest first thing in the morning and flex his claws every few minutes until I got up and fed him!"
Well with a name like that I'd expect him to be a bit evil |

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you) |
Awwwwww I hate the looks from puss cats when food is removed
My worst thing though is the walking away and getting into the car after leaving them at the vet
Don't worry though this time tomorrow it will over and you can do snuggles and lovely food |

She may well still be sulking and not talking to me at this time tomorrow
Yes, leaving her at the vet's will be very difficult.
Her brother will miss her too during the time she's away, (and he'll moan at me about it constantly). And then when she gets back he'll tell her she stinks and refuse to talk to her. |

Ours love smelling whoever has been away and even better if they have stitches so it could be a blessing that her brother doesn't want to know her for a day of two |

"I hope their op goes smoothly x"
Thank you. It's fairly routine but she is nearly 15 years old so there's always a risk of problems. Her vet is excellent though. I absolutely trust him with her care. |

"That's good Dee, I raised 3 generations of Border Collies and only ever went to 1 vet. He is still practising and doing a sterling job "
I had to change their vet when I moved to Norfolk but I chose very carefully following a lot of research. Their previous vet practice was very good but they now see one particular vet and he's excellent. |

I just can't wait to get out of this flat (it's SAHA) so I can have another dog again, I love the freedom that it enables you, plus the pulling power |

My cats have never helped me pull.
I love dogs but I'm horrociously allergic to them, sadly. |

"put the cat out and go to bed. "
Indoor cats. Ragdolls don't have the sense to be allowed out alone and they're far to trusting and friendly to be safe.
And I'm in bed. That's where I'm being pestered, though he has actually given up now. I expect that's only temporary. |

"Why on earth is a cat inside? Just put it outdoors and shut the door. "
They don't go outside except for short, supervised excursions. Most Raggies are indoor only cats.
They're...um...special. I love them and they're wonderful but they're missing a lot of normal cat instincts and they have no sense.
It would be like letting a toddler out by themselves. |

Even if they were outdoor cats how would she make sure the cat didn't eat or drink before the operation if it was unsupervised outside? |

Boy was fine as soon as he got food.
Girl has had her surgery, which was very successful and is cross with me but otherwise well.
I am £740 lighter. |

I have a ragdoll and he is an indoor cat as well, I've tried to introduce him to the back garden but I think I left it too late as I can never entice him down the stairs, he is too much of a scaredy cat! |
