Just been knighted and a thoroughly well deserved honour. A working class boy who left school at 13 with no qualifications, left the navy after being turned down for officer training and used his £39 discharge money to start his own business and became a multi millionaire. Now has his own foundation which has donated £100m into grassroots sports clubs and provides grants to kids who contribute to the clubs they belong to. A man who has directly impacted the football and cricket clubs I work with to the tune of thousands of pounds and an true unsung hero. Those in power at the Premier League, at clubs and players take note! |

When you see awards handed out to various cronies, it is great to see someone who has given so much to society being recognised. |
