Just watched a short piece on the BBC news chronicling the trials and tribulations Gordon Aikman experiences as he lives life with Motor Neurone Disease...

A truly inspirational man...

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's a horrible disease. My aunt had MND for the last two years of her life. Until she was eligible for 24 hour home care it was always a risk leaving her alone, even for a short while.

Being alive mentally and finding your body shutting down and not responding to your commands is a living hell.

Yes a terribly cruel disease... I was humbled by his courage and the way his thoughts were selflessly filled with compassion and gratitude for the people he'll inevitable leave behind,,

Very sad,,,,,,

Most of us will leave someone behind, whenever our time is. The method of our departure is often the tricky bit.

Compassion and gratitude stand us in good stead whatever our current health and circumstances. It is always humbling to see it made real by those dealing with more than we are.
