Hey Guys and gals!

I know it's been out a wee while, and I saw it ages ago, but:

Star Wars 7 - Your opinions?

Personally I loved it! Though it did pretty much copy the format of New hope... Let's hope number 8 Strikes Back and number 9 Returns the goods

Have a lovely new year sexy people!

J

I absolutely loved it. Best ride I've had in the cinema for ages, right from when the words "A long time ago" appeared on the screen. Goosebumps all the way!

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

As in:

Young reluctant hero

Cute but feisty girl

Loveable droid with a secret message/information

A bar full of weired aliens

Stealing a ride on a "stolen" ship (same one!)

A revelation about parentage

A baddie with a dodgy mask

A huge weapon blown up by a neatly placed small strike

The death of an old hero

Sorry...I can't see any similarities at all.....

Only joking. A big fan of the originals (if you ignore Jah Jah Binks). Seen this one twice (2D and 3D) loved it and waiting for the next two!

I expected to hate it, I don't enjoy films like that, but amazingly I loved it

Huge fan of the original 3, new 3 not so much. Not so much to the extent I haven't even watched e1 or 2. E7 tho? I had the shakes watching it, absolutely lived it. Yeah the story is similar to the original but how can the original with today's CGI be a bad thing? Had high hopes when Abrams came on board after seeing his star trek films even tho I'd never been a trekkie and boy did he deliver. Can't wait for the next installments

I watched it dressed as an Imperial Officer in Leicester Square after the premier showing with the stars. The atmosphere was amazing and because just about everyone there was a hardcore fan we all reacted instinctively to key moment. Like when the Falcon was revealed for the first time......awesome. When I took my kids a few days later it was enjoyable but the difference in atmosphere was dramatic.

As for the film itself I would say a little disappointing if you are a hard core fan but they made it accessible to ordinary movie goers and I think that was a positive achievement.

Lucas once said I make movies for 10 year olds, its not my fault if grown ups like them too. I took that on board when watching the movie both times and was well entertained even though I wasn't blown away by anything particularly original.
