I don't drink much anyway so I'm not doing it... even over a five day period when my mum & I had a box of ten vk & a regular bottle of schnapps to share, from the 24th til the 29th, there's still some schnapps left over now

Though I wish the weather was doing a dry January!

I've had *at least* a pint of cider every evening of 2016.

I never used to drink anything. I think the UK is turning me into an alcoholic.

I counted 8 1/2 bottles of really nice rum, a litre of vodka and 2 bottles of really nice gin in my spirits cupboard, people buy us it for Christmas and birthday presents far faster than we can drink it! That's before I even look in the cupboard where the wine and prosecco is. It just never occurs to me to drink it. Now if only I felt the same about food...

Me, not drinking for a month just to save money. Only have two nights out boozing a month and easily spend 180, then 20 on takeaways when hungover

Why do people see the need to go dry for a particular month , is it a charity thing ?

I don't think I've had a drink since New Year's Eve. There is some in the house but I am an occasional drinker at best so haven't been tempted. All the naughty holiday snacks have gone now though. Probably for the best.

" Is anyone else not drinking alcohol this month?"

I'm doing dry January ..

I did it last year and managed well into February too...

I donated the money I saved from not drinking to lung cancer charities in memory of my mum.. I normally enjoy a glass or 2 in the evening so it wasn't a piffling amount!!

I will be doing the same again this year and an added bonus for me is I've also lost 8lbs

We both did that one Lent.

God, we were sick that Easter

We know someone who works weekends in a pub, she's been laid off over January because their takings dip so much

Just normal January 5:2 diet for us, with a week's binge before Lent
