I am not into large woman but don't mind a curvy lady, so have put it honestly on my profile that am only looking for ladies upto size 14.
But on my search am finding so many large women, that my choice is becoming very limited.
Some of the ones that describe themselves as curvy clearly look larger and some don't. Others there's no way of telling. Am now wondering if I've made a mistake of putting it on my profile as I have had negative responses from some girls I have contacted describing themselves as curvy.
Any advice ? |

You've put your preferences on your profile in a non offensive way.
Are you contacting ladies because it says they are curvy in their description and then find out they are not. Curvy is very subjective.
My advice would be only contact profiles where you can see if your attracted to the body shape or not.

I think the issue is that curvy as a descriptor applies more to shape than to size and is a subjective rather than objective decision. I was curvy when I was much larger and am still curvy as a size 14. Think of it like comparing a double bass to a viola; the shape is similar but one is much bigger than the other. Since size is a factor for you then you're going to have to use visuals so can I suggest only messaging those with pictures that show their size so you avoid a potentially awkward conversation later on? |

"I don't really understand what question you're actually asking....? "
I assume he is asking whether he should state his preferences for upto size 14 on his profile ~ but I maybe wrong... |

Dress size is kind of irrelevant, someone who is a size 14 and 5ft will be a much different build to someone of the same dress size who is 5ft 10. I'm a size 18 but am a much different build to other women of the same size but its your preference so keep it there if that's what you want. |

"Just contact women who you can tell by their photos meet your definition of curvy. "
By that I mean, if you're saying on your profile you're only interested in 14 and under - which is fine - but you're contacting women larger than that, they certainly shouldn't be giving you abusive responses but I can understand why they might decline. I get messages from men who want "gym bunnies" or "in shape" and I'm really not going to go there because I'd feel like some sort of last resort. |

your profile dont even mention curvy it just says wonen over a 14 aren't for you, so why would women you contact be negative because they state they are curvy?

Everyone perceives curvy differently. To me curvy isn't having excessive body fat (and this is not to offend) curvy isn't defined by dress size. A friend of mine is 5' 11" and a size 16 but very curvy. She has wide hip, a good ads and large boobs too but she doesn't have a flabby stomach or rolls.
Unfortunately men are easy targets in this subject as you get abused for discussing the subject.
Everyone has a preference. I am like you, slim, athletic, curvy but not large, bbw or "fabulous"
And now await the backlash for honesty |

You won't get abuse or a backlash if you express your preferences in a polite way, which you have there. Even the fabulous accept they're not everyone's type |

It is very subjective as I am a size 10 but would say I was quite curry as I have quite a bum and hips but describe myself as slim purely due to dress size! It's all about who you are attracted to, Best being honest and if pics on profile are not good enough to go by ask for more. We have sent pics and had rejections due to me having piercings or Jon having shaved Head or tattoos never take offence as it's personal preference... Not every one going to fancy us and we are not going to fancy everyone... No offence should be taken by anyone!!

Thanks for all your replies, and all taken advice taken on board.
I was asking what is the best approach to take. Whether to remove from my profile or not contact woman describing themselves as curvy.
Like you say size is very subjective subject for both sexes.
Thanks everybody |

Maybe you should talk to women who you find attractive rather than worry about the size of dress they wear, as there is different shapes to a size 14 or any size for that matter. |

Your profile your choice.
As others have said contact women who have clear pics so you can gauge an idea of their size. Arrange a social 1st, the best way of checking them out with no expectations.
I go from average / curvy on here depending on my mood so i wouldn't pay too much attention the wording. |
