Pretty shocking story on BBC news - alleged mass sexual assaults on women in Cologne over New Year. Surely it will be nigh on impossible to bring any charges without hard evidence? I can't think of any similar situations in Europe on this scale can you?
n.b. Please don't use this to reignite the whole immigration debate as that's been done to death on here and always gets far too emotive and divisive. It's just an unusual and prominent news story worth mentioning I thought.

It is going to be virtually impossible to separate the 'immigration debate' from this one. After all the only description of the offenders is 'Arab' or 'North African' in appearance and aged 18-35. It would also appear that they acted in significant numbers.
The unregulated, sudden and large scale influx of foreigners with a completely different set of values and attitudes to Western Culture will have it's consequences. The 'elephant in the room' was the scenes we have in Cologne on New Years Eve.
Interestingly, it wasn't just wide scale sexual assault. It was petty thefts and robberies too.
Now that's gratitude for you! |

I was thinking about this just now. I just don't know what action the Germans can take or how they will approach this. The scale and seemingly coordinated actions of these men is extremely worrying and the obvious solution will be to warn women not to go out alone, late at night or in any way make themselves vulnerable...I will leave you to draw your own conclusions about possible motives behind the assaults. |

But why not mention the race. This is an immigration problem. It wasn't Germans carrying out these attacks it was immigrants.
By not mentioning it for fear of being accused of being racist we are creating further problems.
The Arab and Middle East men mainly have a very different _iew of how women should be treated yet we invite them to western countries and don't want to talk about potential problems. |

Although numbers wise this incident is the largest reported it is the tip of a very large iceberg here in Germany.
The behaviour of many of the new influx is appalling and seems to be getting worse.
The first main problem seem to be their expectations from what the people traffickers promised them (the land of milk and honey) to the reality of living in temporary accommodation camps. They are kicking off because the internet isn't good enough, and because they are only given subsistence money for food. One group started a riot in one of the camps because they didn't get enough cash for cigarettes.
The second even bigger problem is their total lack of respect for women. The number of sexual assaults on women by young Muslim men here has risen dramatically and is still on an upward curve. So much so that government agencies and town halls are advising young German women to "dress modestly" but apparently to no avail. It is winter here so crop tops and mini skirts have been replaced by jeans, big coats, and scarves, but still they are being attacked. The Cologne station incident is only one of many.
Something has to change and quickly, the vast majority of Germans are sick to the back teeth already and even the established Turkish community have had enough. |

It sounds very scary indeed - I lived in Germany briefly and I can imagine that Fasching will be targeted too.
They need intelligence fast - if 1000 men all acted at once, there has to be a communication trail. |

That's not what I said at all!
In the past these threads have got very personal and the mods have had their hands full deleting personal attacks!
It's a sensible debate to have as long as people don't resort to personal attacks and insults
I've never said anyone discussing our societies issues are racists! |

We could mention the story that Germany isn't alone in this problem!.
Sweden has also seen a significant increase in sex crimes
And Norway has introduced a piece of "how to behave" legislation just to remind immigrants from eritea and alike that... Women can't just be grabbed, even if they have blonde hair!.
One Eritrean chap who'd been on the course said "it was really surprising in Eritrea if you want a woman you just grab one, here they have rights to work! And do nothing in their leisure time".
Of course then there's denmark who've had shootings of cartoonists and many other problems and they really are doing there best to shunt them into Sweden...
So it's borders back up! A huge rise in the far right! .

Contrary to popular belief, we are a very tolerant people. We actually like foreigners, try to learn about their culture and language
Walk into any German city and once we recognise you to be English, we will do our very best to speak in English with you
We have done the same for the Turkish. Berlin is known as the second largest Turkish city in the world
You too are a very tolerant nation. I have seen more nationalities and races here than I have ever seen anywhere else. You too make immigrants feel at home. You made me feel at home and I learnt English in your country. After 25 years, I sometimes call England my second home
However, this is where our similarities end. Confronted with what has happened, we will take, what you might consider, extreme action; as a State and as a people
It would be a whole lot better if these people were informed upon as once a certain amount of time has passed and if the State cannot protect, then people themselves will |

Sorry I misrepresented your post!
However I've read alot of those "immigration threads" some of the people personally attacked for being racist, were raising concerns like, where do we put everyone, how much will it cost, will terrorists be sneaking in with them, will they bring with them unwanted cultural and religious practises... All of which are really coming to bear in many ways, I'm actually on the conservatives parties side on this issue, small numbers, picked from camps and regulated!.

It doesnt sound like a "coordinated" attack. To me it sounds like mob mentality and behavior. Although 1,000 men might have been there, i doubt that every single one of them committed a crime. It sounds like there were pretty sever failings of the police on the night. I would imagine that victims probably have more specific descriptions of the individuals than just Arabic or north african because that isnt enough to go on. |

A couple of women have been spoken to by reporters and broadcast on Prosebien
They are finding it difficult to give accurate descriptions as there were multiple assailants and this happened after dark and they were frightened that worse than a sexual assault may follow so they ran as fast as they could
All their assailants were foreigners of middle-eastern or of african appearance |

As mentioned earlier in the thread, there are vast cultural differences between the North African and Arab males and the laws and attitudes in the West. The main difference being the respect for women. If the German authorities are now telling women to 'cover up' isn't the battle already lost? Isn't that a facet of Sharia law being imposed by the criminality of the people you have been generous to host?
Perhaps it should be families only? Whenever I see migrant camps or migrants trying to run across borders it's just gangs of young males. Perhaps it's time to say no more?
Sweden now has a 'rape problem' and now it looks like it might be Germany's turn.
Other than the appeasement of the conscience of left wingers I can't see what good will come of the mass movement of populations that are difficult to assimilate into existing society. |

Exactly this - why should women cover up - why is the women responsible for a man that cannot control himself.
Why are any women responsible for the behaviour of men - I'm disgusted that this is the attitude of German authorities.
It's the argument in India following horrendous rape and murder.
Don't teach your daughters to cover up. Teach your sons not to rape.
Thing is I don't see how it won't get worse. |

You are absolutely right, but, and it is a very big BUT.
The dilemma for the left is that by telling the migrants they have to change their ways could be seen as racist. Not telling them but telling women to cover up is sexist. Karma |

Er, no. There's no dilemma. How on earth would it be racist to condemn sexual assault?
There's a huge difference between respecting someone's legal cultural practices and prosecuting crime.

Of course local government in Germany said that the problem is with German woman because they don't know how to dress up etc...
I don't know how stupid the government is to say that.
I asked German woman are in Germany or Islamic country????
And why the European Union County keeping them under protection, they're not animal... or maybe they're.

my personal conscience needs no appeasing, we as a country have had integration from people fleeing persecution for hundreds of years..
one would assume that decent people of all political persuasions are ok to offer refuge from those fleeing some of the barbarity in their homelands..?

Condemning migrants cultural practises is widely _iewed a racist. Telling women to cover up and dress modestly to appease the migrants is sexist.
There is the dilemma. While I know many would like it both ways. You can't.
Also as I said on other threads during the summer. The vast majority of the new influx of migrants are young single men jumping on the refugee bandwagon. Their only aim is to freeload off the western countries that will take them in and the second someone says NO to them they play the race card, or worse resort to violence.
The vast majority here in Germany are nothing but thugs.

You support the idea that those found guilty of crimes should be deported then? or just locked up for a time and released back into the same communities who gave them refuge who they then commited crimes against? |

Don't see how you can separate the immigration issue from this story. Hundreds of thousands of African and Arabic refugees and economic migrants flood into Germany in the last few months and than this happens. All i can say is thank fuck the english channel is there and we are only taking selected people from the refugee camps. Looks like David Cameron and the tories were right to address this in the way they have done.
Also German women should'nt have to 'cover up' in their own country. They should be free to dress how they like without fear of attack from these animals. |

The dilemma for the left is that by telling the migrants they have to change their ways could be seen as racist. Not telling them but telling women to cover up is sexist. Karma
Er, no. There's no dilemma. How on earth would it be racist to condemn sexual assault?
There's a huge difference between respecting someone's legal cultural practices and prosecuting crime.
this..
absolute bollocks to assume that because someone is 'of the left' doesn't know or can't/ wont differentiate between the differences within religious/cultural differences and sexual assault..
its a pathetic point with no foundation..
Maybe the word "Dilemma" is a bit too difficult.

There is the other end of the problem. While serious cases are dealt with many minor and even some sexual assaults, cases of petty theft and anti social behaviour are being _iewed through Nelson's eye.
There are a few ageing celebrities doing serious porridge in the UK for a lot less than is being swept under the carpet here."
speaking personally some crimes should never be ignored, family member in met cid and they do have massive resource issue's due to the cuts but sexual assaults are taken very seriously and rightly so..

Luckily for Merkel, but sadly for the rest of us it is a couple of years before the next German general election. Should one be held tomorrow she would well and truly be out on her ear.
There are some smaller state elections later this year. The results will be very interesting. |

I 100% agree the race of the scumbags must be mentioned so as to warn people to be vigilant,if it were 1000 caucasian males 18-35 that perpetrated this act it would be reported as such,it is not racism to report facts.

On local radio this morning there are reports of attacks all over Germany. In Cologne the number of complaints to police is nudging 100 since New Year and over 50 in Hamburg in the same period. Almost every major city has been affected in some way.
A police spokesman seems to think there is some sort of co-ordination and rather than sex and robbery being the motivation the police are thinking it is a well orchestrated campaign by Islamic extremists to stir up trouble with the local community. |

It makes you wonder if it's linked to the incident in October 2014 where 4000 evil people invaded Cologne and violently attacked police and injured 44 people in the same area in broad daylight. They were said to have organised from across Germany using social media. That was pretty much hushed up afterwards - we certainly didn't have much discussion of it in the forum from the usual interested parties. |

The guardian had reports on 5th january of police investigating reports of organised activity among the attackers - based on existing criminal gangs in the area. The bbc on line has a report today that also points out that anti immigrant groups are trying to use the attacks to stir up hatred against refugees according to the interior minister, ralf jaeger.
I can't think where we've seen evidence of that again. |

So what's your answer about the rioters on October 2014?
WHo said I dont like it that people have legitimate concerns? You made that up. Similarly there are a small number of people who make a lot of false and unsubstantiated allegations very noisily to stir up race hatred. But according to them it's not permissible to call them racists.
There's enough bad in the world and the perpetrators of evil crimes like those this new year in cologne deserve punishment under the rule of law. That doesn't give anyone the right to slur people on racial or religious grounds.

Very true, and people need to realise that its not simple to just 'deport' someone. If they have travelled through another EU country to get here, we have to prove it (e.g. they have been fingerprinted by immigration in that country, or they have travel tickets etc) - if we cannot prove it, we cannot deport. If a person has no ID, their perceived country of origin does not have to accept them - so no documents, no travel - we are stuck with them. The country, as with EU states, is awash with people who are savvy to the immigration laws and know how to avoid being deported. Add to that our judicial system which allows for judicial re_iews to be lodged at the last minute, it can be very frustrating for any government to remove people who are no longer welcome or who have overstayed their welcome. |

See your now insinuating that alot of these women are making this shit up to cause trouble and quite frankly that's disgusting!, if they are I'd throw the fucking book at them, but seen as the pattern is repeating in many German city's and many other neighbouring countries I'd highly doubt that personally.
People being prosecuted under the rule of law sounds fantastic, but I'd say if you had been one of the women raped or sexually assaulted that really would be cold comfort, you really don't have to be Einstein to realise that when you let one million immigrants with problems (theyve just left a civil war) and completely different cultural differences in to your country, this was one problem that could be foreseen!.
However sorry you feel for these foreign victims of civil war, a governments first concern should be with their own citizens.
Or what you face is just more civil war! |

Germany first needs to protect its own citizens. It is ludicrous to think that whilst 14 of these perpetrators have been identified (of Arab and African appearance) by the Police, we should keep on burying our collective heads in the sand |

There's enough bad in the world and the perpetrators of evil crimes like those this new year in cologne deserve punishment under the rule of law. That doesn't give anyone the right to slur people on racial or religious grounds.
.
Or what you face is just more civil war!"
I've debated with some pretty bonkers people on here but that takes the biscuit. Nowhere did I insuate that these ladies made up allegations. I am strongly in favour of police forces doing their job to prevent crime and capture criminals.
Einstein would be rolling in his grave at your attempt to use his name. He was part of a persecuted minority in Germany.

"It makes you wonder if it's linked to the incident in October 2014 where 4000 evil people invaded Cologne and violently attacked police and injured 44 people in the same area in broad daylight. They were said to have organised from across Germany using social media. That was pretty much hushed up afterwards - we certainly didn't have much discussion of it in the forum from the usual interested parties..
Oh I dunno, I think a few people predicted this would happen when the governments of countries stop listening to peoples concerns!.
As much as you may not like it, there's a very large amount of citizens who don't want/like/need mass immigration by Muslims!.
They genuinely fear the consequences, just going ha well tough, your all wrong, won't make the problem go away!

"Deflecting blame on 'anti-immigrant' groups of Arab and African origin fools nobody. And not one or two people of that appearance but hundreds?
Whilst migrants need to be protected too, Germany's first priority should be to protect its own people
Is there any reason why there shouldn't be equal treatment to those of both groups who want to live in peace? Both should be protected from thugs and hooligans.
Germany first needs to protect its own citizens. It is ludicrous to think that whilst 14 of these perpetrators have been identified (of Arab and African appearance) by the Police, we should keep on burying our collective heads in the sand"
I agree, germany should protect germans. It shold also protect others who have done no wrong and live in germany legally.
Equally it's not OK to bury your head in the sand and ignore when 4000 far right supporters riot and injured people in cologne based on race hatred |

We took in 1.1 million foreigners. Some of these foreigners have attacked our citizens. We do not need each and every one of the 1.1 million to attack us before we take action
The right-wing in Germany is weaker than it is in this country. We will deal with them too

"As mentioned earlier in the thread, there are vast cultural differences between the North African and Arab males and the laws and attitudes in the West.
Other than the appeasement of the conscience of left wingers I can't see what good will come of the mass movement of populations that are difficult to assimilate into existing society." i
I after with many of your points however
There has always been mass movements of people the Becca people of Austria were one of the first masses migrations. Genetically many people from wales (via the male genome) are heavily related to those of the north of Spain, in fact many of the more of the remote parts of wales people are more related to the north of Spain than the east of England and in texts this can be backed by Tacitus who wondered the origin of the tribes of Wales and why they looked similar to the Celtic tribes in Spain.
If you want to look at how to and how not to deal with immigration then study the fall of the western roman empire.
immigration is not a problem in fact immigration can be a highly positive thibg so long as the resources and the space are there to improve culteral and the economy of a state.
But States only stay as one realy when there is a shared identity. Unlike what the Romans found out in Italy no point flogging the dead horse when noone sees themselves as Roman.
Now i must say before i continue as a humanist i found these rapes, robberies and theafts as absolutely disgusting and it sickend me to hear that such things could happen in europe to which i most affiliate my identity.
But we must not fall to what scientists call the perceived delusion; where on may hear or see something the at some other point see it again and think this is becoming every common when in fact it isn't. We must remember (from the evidence i saw) that over 70% of rapes in Europe are by men who refer to themselves as white male. When we are in this kind of mindset we open ourselves to piming of stigmas. Stigmas being perceived negative steriitypes. These in turn are effected by phychodynamic reasons such as emotions and mativatinal reasons or simply by personality alone.
Members of the same group are certainly not as alike as we often tend to think.
In my opinion at the time of the start of the Arab spring we should be hands on but not geting involved in order to avoid an Iraq. Now my opinion has changed we created this problem of extra mass migration by not being hands on enough at the start of Syria's war we gave space to the jihasi matters to penetrate the free Syrian army just as alquada penetrated the chetinians freedom movement. (As one expert in abudhabi said there are every few moderated in Syria now) By inaction and not being assertive we allowed the expansion of the monster that is diesh to develope a free base of operations however that's the glories of hind site i suppose. |

That's a very interesting outlook of historical immigration.
However id disagree on some points
Like saying 70% of rapes are by white male Germans, this is both misleading (it doesn't portray the % white males in general) and its disingenuous, one rape is too much and one rape that was perfectly foreseeable and preventable(as in these cases) is definitely one rape to much.
Mass immigration on this scale and speed has never been seen in human history outside of a world war, it's an experiment(I see it as a bit like global warming), nobody can forecast what will happen neither the nay sayers or the yay sayers, but as with all experiments surely if you don't know what the results will entail, you should air on the side of caution |

IF that makes you feel better it's OK by me. I've learnt here that once people start making things up they'll continue to do so and throw in as many red herrings as possible. Your so called victory stinks of fish. .
No I meant you've lost any credibility in your argument, but again your turning it into a personal attack on me?.
I'll answer your questions about making things up..
So further up on this post you wrote "Similarly there are a small number of people who make a lot of false and unsubstantiated allegations very noisily to stir up race hatred"... That is where I said your insinuating that these women are making this up!!.
Personal attacks just make your argument look weak and feeble.
I'll stick with the hand I've played thanks. There's a small number of people who make a lot of noisy false and unsubstantiated claims to stir up race hatred. You decided mistakenly that meant ladies who were victims of crime in Cologne and turned into mister outraged and disgusted. That sounds to me like a personal attack. I guess by your logic you lost at that point.
.
Again your not making sense, you've repeated what you wrote and in the context I have to say it sounds like it's meant at the women who have made compliants!.
I'm guessing your sticking with your hand because you have no genuine reply to what I wrote originally.
It's a shame when you can't debate seriously as in reality real debate on issues is the way to avoid these problems in future!, it appears like your just another person who's caught in their own particular dogma, ie left wing, and you apply this dogma to every issue regardless of actual facts!"
It looks like you're another apologist for racism trying to wrap it up in a sugar coating for the sake of your dogma.
Try coming up with some facts to support your comment above on rape in sweden - thats an unsubstantiated slur frequently thrown in by the far right. In fact your use of it as a throw away statement without any context is typical. |

They were said to have organised from across Germany using social media.

Last time I looked I think they were seeing about 11% increases in rape for the last few years! And I'm pretty sure the Swedish government did a survey a few years back that showed north African/middle eastern men were something like 16x more likely to commit rape in Sweden than a Swedish national, although I'm pretty sure they also found Italians, Bulgarians and various other foreigners were also higher than Swedish nationals although not as high as middle Eastern!

Now look at the swedish crime surveys and what they actually say rather than what you think you remember that they say. Sexual offences between 2005 and 2013 are roughly constant at 12% of reported offences and affect about 1% of the population according to the Swedish authorities. Try www.bra.se who are the Swedish authority responsible for the figures.
So you say sexual offences are going up the official numbers say something different. I'll believe them rather than what you think you remember from a source you can't quote.
Like I say - there are people who noisily quote unsubstantiated numbers to justify racial bias. Are you one of them because it looks suspiciously like you just did that? Your memory of an 11% increase per year would lead to a doubling in quick time that has not happened. I won't even go into the changes in the way crimes are counted and reported in sweden that lead to a natural increase in crime reports.
This is where I say "you couldn't make it up could you?"
But you did. Unsubstantiated and untrue |

As usual, anyone who dares see this as an issue which has been created by mass migration of primitive cultures, is branded a racist
The fact the German males rape too is irrelavant. Those are our people and we cannot deport them. However, even one rape carried out by a non-German is one rape we could have avoided by being extremely selective by allowing only families or women and children into our country. And since it is our country, we get to decide (or atleast, should get to decide) who we let in or not. Just as people have a right to choose who they do or do not wish to enter their home
Angela Merkel has a lot to answer for and if cannot come up with good enough answers and solutions, then whilst I would not advocate it, will understand, when the far-right start taking matters into their own hand
Just because we are a tolerant nation does not mean that we are impotent. Thankfully we are not as politically correct, as some other nations in Europe, so as to not to state that this problem is the result of mass migration into Germany. If these Arabs and Africans had not be permitted entry then these mass rapes and sexual assaults would not have occurred |

I couldn't give a fuck about people who make rubbish up and get sensitive when they cant justify it. As for the expression couldn't give a fuck about women being raped, the very phrasing of it is distasteful and insensitive as well as offensive. |

Great speech. Fact is Germany like majority of EU nations can't manage their own borders and then lecture Czechs, Slovaks and Poles about being good Europeans |

"On local radio this morning there are reports of attacks all over Germany.
Do you have a link to this statement from this Police spokesman?
I ask because I have been scanning all the German TV news channels and haven't heard anything like that"
It was from a police spokesman on our local radio this morning. However an hour later the same spokesman had watered it down to a "criminal gang of around 2000 of middle eastern and north African appearance" adding that it was from intelligence obtained by police in Dusseldorf. I don't know which criminal gang it could be that can co-ordinate 2000 across a whole country but I'll let you make up your own mind.
It is also worth noting that ZDF (pretty much the German equivalent of the BBC) has issued a public apology for NOT reporting anything about the events until Monday a full three days afterwards, and only then when pressurised to do so. Also on New Years Day the police in Cologne were saying nothing other than "everyone had a jolly time and there were no serious incidents" Again they only changed their story when pressurised in the media to do so.
The mayor of Cologne has also declared that the area from the Cathedral to the river is a "no go area for women"
What a shame that such a wonderful city should be reduced to that.
Major incidents were also reported in Hamburg and Stuttgart and minor ones scattered across the country. |

Strikes me that it was pretty organised and pre-meditated, which would suggest a new and worrying phase in the attack on western democracies and our culture by those of all races, religions and nationalities who wish to see it destroyed. |

That doesn't give anyone the right to slur people on racial or religious grounds.
.
He was part of a persecuted minority in Germany.
.
Bravo, you utterly failed to reply to one point I made but personally attacked me.
You've lost
It's a shame when you can't debate seriously as in reality real debate on issues is the way to avoid these problems in future!, it appears like your just another person who's caught in their own particular dogma, ie left wing, and you apply this dogma to every issue regardless of actual facts!
It looks like you're another apologist for racism trying to wrap it up in a sugar coating for the sake of your dogma.
Try coming up with some facts to support your comment above on rape in sweden - thats an unsubstantiated slur frequently thrown in by the far right. In fact your use of it as a throw away statement without any context is typical..
I think Finnish men were the lowest likely at around 1x which would sit with my beliefs around different cultures!.
You can label me racist if you like, it wouldn't bother me, I'm more than happy for other people reading to make their own minds up!
Unsubstantiated and untrue .
That's totally disingenuous of you, you've specifically used 2005-2013 because they reclassified there rape requirements in 2005 so it appeared alot larger for those years the bra even state that,
If you look from 2013-15 what they call after the change in the law.
The figures are 11.5% and 12%.
I'm seriously having any fun debating somebody willing to obscure rape statistics to meet there own agenda like you are!.
I only hope you made a genuine mistake it that.
My figures I stated were from memory so they may have been out by a little but you have looked them up and then been devious with them!.
Don't be surprised by this at all, he has a history on here of muddying the waters and trying to twist facts and figures when they do not support his argument. He also has a history of calling others racist/fascist or any other kind of ist when someone disagrees with him on these types of threads. "
I'm flattered that you should come out of your shell. I've usually resisted calling people racist or fascist but you're all coming out today saying youre not right wing or racist then regurgitating your hatred of people that don't fit your racial stereotype.
Have you sorted out why farage refused to follow the democratic vote of his party not to form a European grouping with far right wing parties yet?

"As usual, anyone who dares see this as an issue which has been created by mass migration of primitive cultures, is branded a racist
If these Arabs and Africans had not be permitted entry then these mass rapes and sexual assaults would not have occurred"

That one is very easy to answer. Without members from at least seven EU countries is isn't allowed to form a parliamentary group and gain access to funding that the mainstream parties have fiddled the rules to get.

Best way to stop it, stop all mass immigration. Schengen is already dead, nice idea on paper but when it faced it's first serious test it failed miserably. Borders ate going back up all over europe, left right and centre and its about time too. Free movement of people in the EU as an idea also needs to be binned. The elite politicians may want it but it seems the people of Europe are increasingly rejecting the idea by voting for eurosceptic parties in increasing numbers in EU elections and domestic elections. We now live i an era of increased terrorist threat, (besides the incidents we have seen in Germany over new year) simply allowing people to cross borders freely in the modern world is quite frankly dangerous and nonsensical. |

Your memory of an 11% increase per year would lead to a doubling in quick time that has not happened. I won't even go into the changes in the way crimes are counted and reported in sweden that lead to a natural increase in crime reports.
This is where I say "you couldn't make it up could you?"
But you did.
That one is very easy to answer. Without members from at least seven EU countries is isn't allowed to form a parliamentary group and gain access to funding that the mainstream parties have fiddled the rules to get.

Farage ignores the democratic wishes of his party so he can get his nose in a trough of European money. That's real. |

That doesn't give anyone the right to slur people on racial or religious grounds.
.
He was part of a persecuted minority in Germany.
.
Bravo, you utterly failed to reply to one point I made but personally attacked me.
You've lost
I think Finnish men were the lowest likely at around 1x which would sit with my beliefs around different cultures!.
You can label me racist if you like, it wouldn't bother me, I'm more than happy for other people reading to make their own minds up!

I did look into that actually and have to say it is something I don't agree Farage should have done. Despite what you may believe I don't agree with everything Farage says or does. You have a habit of telling others when they are going off topic though so I shall tell you now you are taking the thread off topic with this. |

"As usual, anyone who dares see this as an issue which has been created by mass migration of primitive cultures, is branded a racist
If these Arabs and Africans had not be permitted entry then these mass rapes and sexual assaults would not have occurred
Well said
Will you be making up another nasty little story now?
No need to. There are more than enough real ones to go around. "
There I have to agree with you |

"Strikes me that it was pretty organised and pre-meditated, which would suggest a new and worrying phase in the attack on western democracies and our culture by those of all races, religions and nationalities who wish to see it destroyed.
Quite right, but the crazy thing is the way that France are handling it at the moment.
Last month I drove from Spain to Germany via France and had to go through checkpoints at both the French/Spanish border and also as I left France into Luxembourg.
Two weeks later we drove from Germany to Dunkirk to catch a ferry to the UK and there was nothing at the French/Belgian border. It seems the French are controlling some borders but not others. After the events in Paris I would have thought the Belgian border would have been heavily policed. |

"On local radio this morning there are reports of attacks all over Germany.
Do you have a link to this statement from this Police spokesman?
I ask because I have been scanning all the German TV news channels and haven't heard anything like that
It was from a police spokesman on our local radio this morning.
Major incidents were also reported in Hamburg and Stuttgart and minor ones scattered across the country."
Thank you for that. I generally watch Rheinmain or Prosieben so missed the first statement
I have such lovely memories of Koln. I always stop there on my way to Wiesbaden
Last time I was in Wiesbaden, I saw more migrants than I saw Germans. And the way these men were looking at the women, made me feel very uneasy. For the first time in my life I felt as if I was the foreigner in my own country |

"Sweden has sinxe fixed its problem with the infrease in rape by foreign nationals completely.
They no longer record the nationality of the rapist.
That doesn't stop people from making it up to fit their propaganda, does it?.
I've posted where I got my figures which I quoted from memory.
I think you'll find I made nothing up and you sir have serious issues!
With people who use Wikipedia as if it's gospel? Try the official authority's Web site..
Upto now you've called me a nut, crazy, a fascist, a racist, a liar, and over sensitive and in reality all I've done is be honest as I can about a difficult subject, I quoted my figures near enough correct, despite them being from memory, which I stated.
The worst I've said about you is your stuck in your left wing dogma while looking at problems and solutions!
Trust me, I couldn't care less about your rantings,
You've been consistently wrong about your assumptions and disingenuous with rape figures of all things to manipulate .
I won't wait for your apology, I don't think your the type of person to admit mistakes
No I see no reason to apologise to you - you've made up what you think I've said and can't be bothered to look at the official stats.
How in your strange world do you manage to imply that any change is due to any particular racial group? When will your apology come for that?" .
Well if you read the Wikipedia page I quoted you'll see the Swedish report into ethnic make up of rapists..
Like I said it was from memory but I checked it later and I'm not far off the mark.
I already stated on another post where I quoted the wiki page, if I made a mistake I'll apologise.
If it wasn't such a serious issue, I could laugh at your nonsense. |

That doesn't give anyone the right to slur people on racial or religious grounds.
.
He was part of a persecuted minority in Germany.
.
Bravo, you utterly failed to reply to one point I made but personally attacked me.
You've lost
I think Finnish men were the lowest likely at around 1x which would sit with my beliefs around different cultures!.
You can label me racist if you like, it wouldn't bother me, I'm more than happy for other people reading to make their own minds up!
That one is very easy to answer. Without members from at least seven EU countries is isn't allowed to form a parliamentary group and gain access to funding that the mainstream parties have fiddled the rules to get.
AKA Real Politik.
Farage ignores the democratic wishes of his party so he can get his nose in a trough of European money. That's real.
Be honest you don't give a fuck about Farage being undemocratic toward his party, your nose is put out of joint because UKIP got the extra funding and you can't stand that because you hate UKIP.
Just more hypocrisy and lies on the ukip front. Whingeing about democracy and then totally ignoring the democratic wish of his party. I'm delighted that he's showing his true colours. Not to mention his sour grapes about losing a by election. That was laughably undemocratic of him wasn't it? Now kindly get back on topic. "
Telling yourself off now for taking the thread off topic, as you are the one who originally brought this up. You really have lost the plot now. |

You are either a troll or you like to argue for the sake of arguing
Or you could be a right-wing plant tasked to raise the anger level amongst people who feel outraged at the mass rapes and sexual assaults carried out by Arabs and Africans who we afforded every hospitality in our country
You try to ridicule every poster and when you cannot do that, start implying that the fault either lay with the German women or that this is a drop in the ocean when compared to rapes carried out by German men between 19xx and 20xx or that the poster is racist |

Is this a major criminal incident that needs a proper investigation and prosecutions using the full force of the law? YES
Are there disturbing elements to it which need thoroughly looking at in order for it to never happen again? YES
Are the usual suspects almost bursting with glee because this awful story presents a perfect opportunity for them to bring out their thinly-veiled racism and islamophobia? FUCK YES |

I did not find a single one of your comments supporting or even sympathising with those German women who were raped or sexually assaulted. Instead, each and every one of your comments is to state that people need to understand that this is not an issue brought upon due to letting migrants into Germany
It is clearly an issue to do with migrants. Germans are not of Arab and African appearance
Whether you like it or not, these people have just arrived into Germany and are from a primitive culture which is completely at odds with our society and values. We do NOT need to 'understand' them. They are (all 1.1 million of them) welcome to leave Germany and you can start take carie of them and house them with your wife and daughters
I find you and your thinking deplorable at a time like this
I does not matter to me what you find disappointing as you are an uncaring person. The only thing it seems you care about is scoring points and completely ignoring the fact that probably hundreds of German women were raped and sexually assaulted in under an hour
You and others like you only serve to increase the emotional upset and by that, increase the hatred against all migrants. It is true that all 1,1 million did not rape. But we have never had this level of criminality prior to us letting these foreigners in and only out of the goodness of our hearts |

No, but I have been to lots of German cities and town centres on Saturday nights and other nights
And yes, any culture were a thousand or more men co-ordinate rapes and sexual assaults on women, by German standards, is a primitive culture |

These kind of threads always become all about you. You simply do not ever let anyone discuss the real issue. Instead, you wade in and try to wind people up when they are trying to come to terms with the enormity of what has happened
The debate is not whether these attacks were carried out by migrants or not. They were and some have already been identified by the Police
The debate is:
Why did this happen?
What do we do next?
Do we start returning migrants back to their countries? Remember, they are not German citizens
Do we take the risk and let them stay in our country hoping that this will not happen again?
Do we close our borders to any more migrants? |

You are either a troll or you like to argue for the sake of arguing
Or you could be a right-wing plant tasked to raise the anger level amongst people who feel outraged at the mass rapes and sexual assaults carried out by Arabs and Africans who we afforded every hospitality in our country
You try to ridicule every poster and when you cannot do that, start implying that the fault either lay with the German women or that this is a drop in the ocean when compared to rapes carried out by German men between 19xx and 20xx or that the poster is racist
I was actually supporting your point of _iew which clearly offends you but I'm still entitled to do. I have no intention of supporting any rapist or racist and I was talking to someone else about swedish not german statistics because he'd raised them earlier.I made no comment intended to insult women in Germany and if it seemed like that i do apologise. I'm more concerned with those who claim not to be racist so that they can then justify half true lies and propaganda. That one of your comments seems to say you think a whole class of people is sub human was disappointing in the least.
But we have never had this level of criminality prior to us letting these foreigners in and only out of the goodness of our hearts
Of course you've had that level of criminality before but it was OK by you because it was native germans doing it?
You are now talking nonsense and as usual, attempting to veer completely away from the topic of the the mass rapes and sexual assaults carried out by foreigners on New Years Eve of 2016
Your comment, again, shows complete disregard for what has happened to hundreds of women in Germany
I have a lot of sympathy and regards for the victims but am rapidly losing any need to care about you and your schadenfreude. You've made your sympathies and prejudice well known here many times. Despite that I would and do fight for your right to live a life of freedom from threat robbery and sexual assault or rape.
Just remember how you felt during the transgender passport gender thread. I'm totally against criminality and actively so whether that be by the far right or by ungrateful migrants.I don't need doing affirmation from you and certainly don't give a damn about the _iews of people who are racist -or sexist- and pretend not to be."
That (transgender passport thread) is a good example, Yet again, a minority was attempting to hide behind political correctness and emotionally blackmailing the majority into succumbing to their unreasonable demands
This is no different. People are being emotionally blackmailed to feel that any comment against the migrants is racism no, matter what they have done |

I suspect the very vast majority of the 1.1m migrants who have sought refuge in Europe are genuine, hard working people who wanted to escape a war torn country and despicable regime. Do we turn our back on people escaping war who fear for their lives because of the actions of a tiny minority who are a disgrace to themselves and the religion they claim to represent? It is an issue which needs a huge amount of thought. |

"What happened and how do we stop it happening again?
It really doesn't have to descend into a catastrophic clash of culture thing "
We know what happened. That can't be the debate
Question is, why did it happen? And how do we stop it from happening again?
Why do you think it happened? |

It's an excellent example and I felt you received an unnecessary attempted battering at the hands of a few people. My _iew is that there are a few people here who will hammer out the anti immigrant anti islamic line indiscriminately and with no respect for the truth. That's being 'anti'-PC if you like - and just as bigoted as some PC zealots are. Of course lots of people agree with them. And quite a few don't but are scared of the abuse you get when you oppose them. I usually read through several of these threads with the same old lies being trooped out about immigrants before I comment. They've had their chance to parade their goods, their bigotry, with minimal opposition but if anyone opposes it rapidly turns in to childish slander
I'm entitled to my opinion which is very traditionally British in terms of treating people fairly and obeying the rule of law. The bullies and racists can go fuck themselves.
Good evening.

I did not mention their religion for I have no idea what religious _iews they hold and in any case, whether the attacks were carried out by Christian migrants or Muslim migrants, is quite irrelavant
What is relavant that these attacks were carried by migrants and would not have happened had we simply refused them entry into Germany

I don't know about a tiny minority. We have 80 million Germans and 40 million of them must be men. Yet out of the 40 million, I have never heard or seen 1,000 German men raping German women. However, out of 1.1 million migrants ..... |

You know if you've ever worked in fostering there's children and then there's children who've had a hard childhood, usually they have more problems, they require more time and are often problematic, it's not there fault they've just been through stuff and bring more problems to the table!.

Cases like the Rotherham systematic group rape of children does raise uncomfortable questions about differing cultures respect or lack of it for women, as highlighted by Cologne. But again, this is a minority and one should be careful not to over react and label everyone of a certain background with the same brush as those who undertake criminal activity. |

My own _iew, though you won't want it. The Koln station and Cathedral area has become a home for criminal gangs including illegal immigrants over the last couple of years. They've been allowed to grow in confidence and, I'd guess, that led to them thinking they could get away with what they did at New year. They need to be policed effectively and put back into their box - jail, or if it's legal thrown out of the country. The police response on the night was under resourced weak and ineffective and they really have to send a message that such behaviour won't be tolerated. I'd hope they are far more robust in the future.
People coming into Germany need to realise that they should obey the law and respect the country's culture and the people already there. If they abuse the vast hospitality and generosity of much of the German nation then they don't deserve it.
Those there as refugees or on asylum who respect the law and the country should be given the same respect and protection under the law, which modern Germany seems very well set up to do. They are guests and some may become citizens and participating/enriching members of society as immigrants have done in the past. |

It is an interesting analogy if not one I totally agree with. What is going on in Syria has been mass murder on a monumental scale. I personally don't believe we should turn our backs on families escaping for their lives. What is without doubt is that Europe has been totally ill prepared for this unprecedented influx of people with different languages, cultures and traditions and trying and trying to assimilate all of this in such a short space of time has been an unmitigated disaster. |

I agree
However, I can tell you that Koln station has only recently, become the hive of criminal activity. Frankfurt has been the centre for at least the last 25 years and it was mostly the Russian Mafia. But that is besides the point
I agree that those convicted of these crimes should be deported, as long as we can determine where to deport them to
The problem starts with those we cannot deport and hopefully this will be a small group. We will need to think up of special measures for them
What is really frightening is that there could be many more within the migrant population who simply do not understand (or want to understand) our culture. How do we identify them?
This is where I think that their communities need to take responsibility and not only educate them but also help the authorities in keeping an eye on them. I think that when we have been kind to let such a mass of people into our country they owe it to us to now help them help themselves |

I think that when we have been kind to let such a mass of people into our country they owe it to us to now help them help themselves"
I couldn't agree more. Good evening. |

I suspect the very vast majority of the 1.1m migrants who have sought refuge in Europe are genuine, hard working people who wanted to escape a war torn country and despicable regime. Do we turn our back on people escaping war who fear for their lives because of the actions of a tiny minority who are a disgrace to themselves and the religion they claim to represent? It is an issue which needs a huge amount of thought.
It does, doesn't it
And it needs to be balanced against the safety of our own citizens
I did not mention their religion for I have no idea what religious _iews they hold and in any case, whether the attacks were carried out by Christian migrants or Muslim migrants, is quite irrelavant
What is relavant that these attacks were carried by migrants and would not have happened had we simply refused them entry into Germany
Now that we have let them in, what do we do next?
I don't know about a tiny minority. We have 80 million Germans and 40 million of them must be men. Yet out of the 40 million, I have never heard or seen 1,000 German men raping German women. However, out of 1.1 million migrants .....
Cases like the Rotherham systematic group rape of children does raise uncomfortable questions about differing cultures respect or lack of it for women, as highlighted by Cologne. But again, this is a minority and one should be careful not to over react and label everyone of a certain background with the same brush as those who undertake criminal activity."
I think my unease is the way the major media outlets either self censor or spin these stories as if people are children who must be guided to a particular conclusion. The most disappointing is Channel 4 news which needs to get back objective reporting of factual events. |
