Not sure if it's been posted already but the daily mail did an article on an older couple who swing late last night on one of their Facebook posts .

After reading all the comments it seems that everyone stil thinks swingers are disgusting and seedy and some even saying they hope all swingers die from stds. I don't normally comment on such articles but one woman suggested that all swingers must be child abusers and must die immediately and it had a lot of likes (her previous comment on Facebook was she hopes the world gets more compassionate this year )So I responded and asked her why she thought this. Her reply was swingers must be sick and twisted as are child abusers.

Where do people get these _iews from , swingers as we know are people who just enjoy company and sex .

Also the article made out that all swingers are middle aged old and ugly it would be nice if they actually maybe did a story to promote the benefits of swinging and inter_iewed a younger couple for a change

I don't concern myself with how other people _iew my activities. I know that I don't do anything wrong and that is good enough for me.

People have an amazing ability to judge and a difficult time being open and understanding. That's just the way it is. I realized this a long time ago and it helps me to just ignore people who are quicker to judge something than to think about or research it.

And its not just news articles or comments that showcase this behavior. It can be found on this site as well.

Any public comments on any internet based 'news' story should be treated with an appropriate level of disdain. And not just on the Daily Mail site.

I'm a great advocate of freedom of speech, but some people don't half spout some ill informed bobbins on t'internet don't they?

Let's leave judgemental people to facebook where they belong, wearing their large pants to warm their necks. There are a lot of things in this world that don't conform to order, and swinging is one of them. It seems ok to have an affair, but not ok to swing. Judgement of swingers doesn't bother us at all, it's very, very misunderstood.

Everyone has their own opinion.

For instance, I think that people who indicate such strong personal negativity towards something that has no bearing on their own lives are stupid, backwards, and probably won't amount to much in life.

Also, tabloid newspapers are propagandistic, stereotype-reinforcing garbage I wouldn't wipe my arse with.

But that's just my opinion.

It comes down to narrow minded up bringing and a lack of a decent level of education

My parents taught me to accept people from all walks of life, religious beliefs etc...

Does that mean we are worse than ISIS?

Agreed!

It's not how the outside world judge us all that makes me sad - it's how we seem to judge each other!

For instance - those who meet rarely judge those who meet a lot.

Those who do 1-2-1 only judge those who like group sex.

Those who only like 1 or 2 partners judge those who like gang-bangs.

People judge those who have fetishes that they don't share.

To be honest - this makes me sadder than the outside world's _iew of me!

We never judge anyone, and beleive, we have had our eyes opened wide on here, but it would be unfair to judge anyone on the amount of sexual partners, their sexuality or anything else for that matter

My hope is that some of us make a stand ..... Being of different colours caused issues, different faiths, different social standing, having a disability, homosexuality, being a women even..... In my opinion my lifestyle choice is healthy.....

And making a stand for it... Not hiding it .... Makes it difficult at times.....my son and I had words only last week "because I was on it and someone might recognise me and it was in proximity of his work" even though he and his wife are on it. I was surprised by his reaction and concern for what others think.

I am not living a life that hurts another living thing.... And I am happy and healthy... The tide needs to change ...

I agree - but it all works both ways and those who like group sex judge those who only want 1 to 1.

Those who like gang bangs judge those who are here looking for one FB.

Those who meet a lot judge those who are on the site but not currently meeting.

Everyone judges, from all sides and all corners. We'd be better off accepting this and all just muddling along together.

And yet some Swingers whine they are misunderstood...! (General comment, I don't mean the OP.)

When people say they can't understand why some people won't have public face pics/ don't want the world to know they are Swingers, this 'article' discussed in the OP shows why.

To be honest in life the people whom have the time to criticise others are in happy with there own life. If you're busy enjoying yourself you don't have time to concern yourself with what others are sound.

Probably frigid women whom don't enjoy or have sex and there hubbys are out screwing around because of it.

Live and let live. Don't knock it till you've tried it.

Singles are forever being judged on here as not being swingers, funnily enough usually judged by those looking for singles to make up 3sum scenarios.

I personally notice far more judgemental people on this site than any other site I have used.

But i guess overall, people judge, whether judgement is right or wrong people judge, everyone does, an example be some court case in tabloids, people judge is person guilty or not guilty, even those that claim they don't judge anyone, i bet at least once in their lifetime they have passed judgement somewhere

I'm not saying we shouldn't judge. Judgement is necessary and often good. I'm saying we shouldn't judge without proper information. For example: someone can look at their moral code and decide, with the full knowledge of what swinging is, that it is not consistent with their morals. Cool. But I don't want someone who doesn't know anything about swinging to judge me to be a child molester or some such nonsense.

Informed judgement I'm fine with.

The only thing I find surprising about this is that the OP finds it surprising how thick the average person commenting on daily mail Facebook posts is.

I don't care about changing their opinion because it means nothing to me in the first place, whether it's good or bad. You don't get offended if a child calls you a name do you? Well most these people have an IQ the child wouldn't envy.

You're falling into their trap! Whilst the newspapers generalise about stingers and anything that's serially liberated as being sordid and sleazy;assuming Mail readers are all right wing nutters falls into their trap.

Form opinions on a one by one basis. The first stingers I ever met shocked me....they were normal everyday folk, that I'd get to know even if I hadn't met in such circumstances. The media loves to judge as do people, but it doesn't mean we have to believe what's written or heard without factual corroboration?

I find at times like these it can be quite liberating to say "Fuck em all"

Not literally though... Because they don't swing

Most Day Mail readers are too fuggly to swing anyway

You make it sound like being a perv and not into 'normal behaviour' is a bad thing.

"Most Daily Mail readers have the IQ of a cheeseplant so I can't say I'm suprised.

Once they've nuked all the immigrants and benefit scroungers they can start on the Swinger's

I blame the bloody immigrants anyway"

. A bit of a broad generalisation and I don't think it would stand up if scrutinised in detail.

Most Daily Mail readers will be reasonable educated and aspire to improving themselves in life .

Think I'd better get myself on a writing course to participate in these forums at times

Oh my days... reading through all the dumbass bullshit on that page almost melted my brain... as well as the comments on the article! Apparently all swingers are old & ugly.

~I~ don't keep it a secret but I don't shout about it - not because I'm ashamed but because I know people judge about it. I was having a conversation quite openly about swinging with a vanilla friend today on Facebook. She's very open minded & said although she isn't into it herself & wouldn't do it, as long as all parties involved are happy then crack the fuck on.

Now I'm off to cause a bit of tension in the comments myself. Trollolololol.

I'm surprised they haven't decided that swinging gives you cancer!

That will be next week's article in the 'health' section!

My thoughts on the article and comments..... it wasn't that many years ago that people were very vocal against gay men. Calling them disgusting and paedo's.

You never know in 50 yrs time maybe swinging will be classed as normal and accepted??

Alrighty, I'm back. My full comment on the Facebook article -

"Oh look... narrow minds on the Daily Fail page. I am both shocked AND surprised.

1) Swinging is consensual sexual activity between adults. Note the words CONSENSUAL and ADULTS! Comparing it to child abuse is idiotic. It's like calling someone who's gay a child molester. And if you're worried about minor ages creeping in there, swinging networking sites and swinging clubs are very careful about ID.

2) IT IS NOT CHEATING - it's done with the consent & normally the involvement of both parties. In the "scene", cheating is still frowned upon.

3) Swingers are all old and ugly... (though I'd be classed as a swingle.)

4) Back to my original point about it being consensual sexual activities between adults... It's THEIR personal business. Not yours.

So maybe some of these straightlaced narrow minded boring people on this post should try living a little instead of judging others for enjoying the freedom to live their lives however the hell they want. "

I've probably outted myself a bit now.

Still haven't found this daily mail Facebook page - but very tempted to set a new e-mail address up (without my full name on - bit of a giveaway) and respond to a few of these bigots myself!

London

It's the Daily Mail. If you're not straight, white, married, middle-class or higher, and Conservative they're going to have a problem with you.

I'm straight(ish), white (when I'm not wearing fake tan!), middle class and conservative if and when I agree with their policies! I'm also an ex Sunday school teacher who can have a VERY long theological argument about why the concept of no sex outside marriage is now completely out of date! And to be honest I love a good 'discussion' with bigots!
