unhealthy food is better for your health. Companies are part of s big conspiracy group to make you buy healthy
I asked someone about this and they have me a pretty good answer. If not I could remember it. sorry |

we are wired to seek out fat and sugar but that stems from when they were hard to find. Now they are at our disposal 24/7/365 that's why people are FAT. We can consume sugar and fat to our hearts content and destruction. |

Healthy food does taste good but your taste buds have been dulled by processed crap.
Having said that there may be an evolutionary link as to why high fat foods taste nicer. When bears feast on salmon before hibernating, the closer to the end of the season they get they will only eat the brains and egg sacs of the salmon they catch as they provide the most energy yield.
Perhaps we enjoy higher fat foods more as our body is wanting to preserve energy for any upcoming fasting time etc? |

No pumpkin. Unhealthy food is NOT better for your health in large quantities.
It just has all the stuff we are genetically pre disposed to seek out but is now too readily available. |

sure we were all healthier when we drank full fat milk and fought one another for the cream on our cornflakes - added so much real butter to toast and crumpets - salt in our dippy eggs - and of course played outside and walked most places carrying shopping - doing more housework using elbow grease instead of gadgets |

Fat, salt and sugar are very useful and very hard to come by so taste delicious so we stock up while we can.
But now we live in a time where you are only ever 5 mins away from food its not ao helpful |

Our bodies haven't really evolved in the last 10,000 years, so as Granny Crumpet said we're still very much programmed to crave high calorie foods. So yes, fatty sugary foods do taste better. |

Pumpkins are the food of the devil and pumpkin pie is the food of the devil in a pastry case.......... |

"It's the combination of sugar and fat that's so blooming addictive. Bastards. "
Annoying thing is depending on life style a high sugar diet can be healthy a high fat diet can be healthy but a high fat and sugar diet is awful.
But they taste so much better together than separate |

I've just found a nice new thing to munch on today, pinkslaw made with grated red onion and other pink red stuff mixed with light vinegarette can buy it in tesco only 46 calories half a lot and I think fresh pineapple is one of the nicest tasting things

I watched a thing once where one guy went on a high sugar/carb diet and the other a high fat diet, and obviously neither was ideal but they didn't gain much weight with either. Sugar and fat together though - boom. |

It's an illusion.
Babies are equipped to enjoy sweet milk from birth, after that you should be enjoying a healthy range of foods.
Most of the crappy food is coloured to look better, put in fun boxes for it to be appealing, and ready prepared made from waste products you should throw away but are too lazy to make your own food from scratch yourself.
Even chocolate, that almost everyone loves, looks like poo. If you've been trained to eat something that looks like shit then well done food producers. |

Yep - I was a kid then too! But we had sweets once a week - only had fizzy pop when the pop van came round - and didn't snack between meals! I didn't have pizza or a macdonalds (which fortunately I've always loathed) until I was 18! Sadly I think those times are gone!

Exactly this ~ I was just about to the say the same thing.
I read somewhere hat the 50's was one of the healthier decades, natural food like sugar & butter as opposed to sweetener & low fat spreads, seasonal veggies & fruit & people used to rationing and smaller portions.

"Isn't it something to do with msg or transfats, which are addictive.....or somefing "
No not really.
Msg is basicaly just glutemate bound to sodium so it csn be used like table salt.
Glutemate is what gives parmesan cheese its umami flavour |

Sugar dude. Plain and simple. Watch a documentary on Netflix called fed up. Will explain how the food industry has had most people literally addicted to the stuff since the 70s. |

And now public health have launched a new Sugar Smart App since reports suggest some children are consuming their body weight in sugar each year.......that's a lot of sugar! |

Infant mortality rates were still high in the 50s, tends to pull average lifespan down quite a bit... |

"They do, it's just people are so used to the sugar and fat they thing good food isn't as nice.
Stop eating the junk and then you find it tastes crap if you ever go back to it."
Agree with this. I do not eat rubbish food. I dont eat takeaways, ready meals etc and i dont eat on the go. I would rather do without than eat rubbish. The processed food sold in Britain, and thats everything from cheap ready meals to a tin of beans, is crammed full of sugar and salt. There is a conspiracy in the UK to forcefeed the public salt and sugar as surely as there is an agenda to feed and normalise excess alcohol consumption. If you live in a med country for a while and get used to real food then come back here and eat, you will feel that salt burn your throat ! |

Let's not forget we all have free will - with the exception of children whose parents feed them crap. There is no shortage of information and publicity on what is healthy and what is not, ultimately you choose what to put in your body. |
