A single female I chat too on fab marks my messages unread then texts me when it's obvious she has read my message

I think it's rude

Do you do it ? And why ?

I would like to see fab remove this feature

I mark messages unread all the time. If I read a message and want Marc to read it too, I mark it unread. If I read a message and want to send a long reply but want to wait until I'm on my laptop, I mark it unread. Etc. Etc.

We get a lot of messages. Its easy to send the "thanks but no thanks" replies but in order to not lose the ones I actually want to reply to, I have to mark them unread to draw my attention to them. Otherwise they get lost in the rest of the trash.

Hereabouts

I love the mark unread feature. I hide behind my yellow wall of ignorance regularly so it's handy for that. But also if I have to do something else, I mark the message unread so I don't forget to reply later or whatever.

I think you're being a bit dramatic about someone marking your message unread.... How is it any different than recieving a text and not replying to it for a while? The other person doesn't know you've left it in your inbox...

What if you send someone something that they want to be able to find again later? Especially if they don't have site supporter so can't put the message in the saved folder. Messages marked unread are a hell of a lot easier to deal with than read messages that you need to find again later to reply to. Stop being such a baby OP.

I mark unread when I've had a glance but no opportunity to respond. Incidentally I do this with work emails too. It's basically an administrative to do list. OP, if you regularly chat with the lady in question, perhaps you could ask her (in a non-ranty manner) why she does it, slightly more chance of knowing her reasons directly from her rather than from the delightfully loopy forums. Just a suggestion.

So does mark unread also put it back to unread at the other end? I was never sure!

I have to admit I have sometimes opened a previous received or sent message to see what the latest message is when I don't want to reply just yet. But that's cos I thought it would show at their end if I did open it properly.

Didn't even know there was a mark unread feature. Doesn't affect me knowing, I still won't use it, just like I don't on wWhatsApp either. I can read a message and depending on the type of reply needed (length wise) I will either rreply straight away or later on when I can.

I do this all the time. Some of my messages require a long reply. So I may have a quick read of the message I've been sent then mark it as unread. It then reminds me to reply to it later when I have time. Sometimes I'll even save a message so I don't lose it.

I often read a message and then mark it as unread to remind me to reply later if I can't at the time I read it. Don't see anything rude about it at all.

If the site is going to get rid of any feature it should be the ability to see if your sent messages have been read or deleted as this seems to cause nothing but grief.

I sometimes read it, mark it as unread just because I can't be arsed replying there and then bet I'm not the only one either.
