If the Internet didn't exist, fabswingers.com and other similar sites would not have either. How would swingers and sexual Deviants alike have met?? Yellow pages?

Contact mags like in the 80s, a long and laborious process I think (before my time!) or maybe just go to clubs?

little house on the praire

First for me it started off as being right time right place. Then progressed to contact magazines and then teletext adverts.

But the internet makes everything so easy

without spell checker too, we didn't have the problem of predictive text either.

"Pampas grass "

Also on top of this there was an elaborate signalling system involving garden gnomes.

North Wales

They would have got their first meet most likely through a contact mag or top shelf mag such as Razzle, Knave etc.

They would have bought the said magazine from either a regular newsagent (Although WHS only ever had a very small selection - local corner shops were often better), or maybe they would have plucked up the courage to go into their local sex shop.

Back then, there weren't as many swingers clubs, but there were more adult cinemas and private house parties would be advertised in the assorted magazines.

Also, local newspapers would have a larger classified adverts section. Careful wording would be used in the personals column.

Oh, and of course, there was always the messages on the back of public convenience doors.

And lovers lanes as they were called then.

Oh, and don't forget the nightclubs, or the pubs with either topless barmaids or even strippers! Most of those pubs were free entry, so it only cost you a pint to watch some hooker get her kit off.

And for the desperate, there were many more red light districts scattered across the country.

Contact magazines still exist. In certain parts of London at least.

The whole process must have been slow going

The Internet makes all this swinging so fast paced.

Yeah sure there were clubs, but having sites like this spread the word fast I imagine...

The back of buy and sell was popular over here, subliminal messages..

..but swinger 'type' parties existed long before the internet....word gets,around...none of you think your neighbours haven't sussed your frequent callers...pmsl....in the old days they'd call round at the opportune moment and hope to get asked in..nowadays they create a fake profile and try to suss u out...

I've been on the internet since the early 90s and It's been a blessing and a curse.

I'd love to go back to my CB days as everyone knows your shit now, as It's all online. It's not even 'your' shit anymore as once you have posted something it becomes that sites property

People were still dogging before the internet. It was a glorious time before that ugly bastard from Eastenders (& Collymore) brought it to everyone attention.

Most men would be buying flowers, chocolates or even take their wives out so they can have fun later. Now they ignore them and see if they can get a free go on sites like this
