I doubt we are alone the chances of that are very slim. However, I seriously doubt we are being visited.
I can't see there being any big overarching conspiracies, as it is human nature for people to talk.
My favourite mystery is probably Eilean Mor or the IX Legio, both of which I think have natural explanations.

They are both hot though. "
I felt it went on about 6 series too long. After they'd covered all of the well known mysteries, the stand alone stories just seemed to be about obscure stuff and the big conspiracy story just seemed to vanish up its' own arse |

I was only talking about David Duchovny last night, saying I didn't fancy him in the X Files but now he is older he is hot, he totally does it for me at the moment! |

It just seemed to get really daft and unbelievable. Though 'unbelievable' is probably the wrong word...  
Lots of series seem to do the same. Fringe and Heroes also went crap after series 1/ 2.  |
