"Do promises of fun actually happen? Beginning to loose all faith. So much to offer but so many times rejected. So unfair. X"
'Promise' for myself is a word that one only uses if something is set in stone and will happen, breaking a promise is not good but lets be honest may happen..
of course anyone saying to you OP that they promise this or that may not associate the same gravitas to the word but maybe they also just use it casually..
either way maybe look at your selection criteria for those who you are arranging fun and certainly look again at how rejection makes you feel, its all part and parcel of this aspect and does happen..
wish you good luck.. |

Just because you have communicated with someone, doesn't mean anything will happen;
You get chatting; each shows an interest, chat some more, start to build a picture of the other person;
Then at some point, both parties are sure; it's " yep, this is fine" and it happens.
Other times, at some point, either party ( or both) will think. " actually, not for me". Or you think that their interests are a bit different,
Or distance, timings, dates, etc just don't work.
It's life..... Move on.
Though when that happens, I do prefer to be honest, and say, rather than just suddenly stop chatting.
In one case, I met a lady for lunch; we got on well, but actually just didn't fancy each other sexually.
But we are now really best friends. |

Perhaps you should review your selection process if you're finding you're getting rejected many times?
It's the festive period, so could just be that people are spending time with family and friends and haven't got the time to meet strangers for fun. |
