Alright... so, a single male's just asked me for advice on his profile, and I suggested that he looked at profiles of male forum users that are popular - or the ones that I like & that have caught my eye in the past - to get an idea of the way that those men phrase themselves... but with a warning not to copy & paste other people's profile texts!
So which single male profiles would you say are the best, based on profile text? |

I rarely read them i just go with what i fancy.
And actually that's partly true. Profile text is secondary to me. If i don't like the look of them i won't bother with the profile. I prefer to suss a guy out when we are messaging and i only do that if i like the pics.....obviously if their profile says something that indicates we won't get on I'll bypass them...but other than that it doesn't really matter. |

that may be the case... but i can see where proff is coming from...
the chap may not be copying someones words, but he may be copying someones style.. and if that aint them, they will get caught...
i just tell people in the end who knows you better than you... so sit down, pad and pen.. and tell the world about you!!!!! |

So which single male profiles would you say are the best, based on profile text?" . He could maybe start off with a blank piece of paper and then identify his unique selling points . This can then be built into his profile and at least he is not copying the style of others . |

Just updated my profile because of this thread and the other similar one lol. I opted for dick pics. Some don't like that but some do so it's hit n' miss and people usually ask for a dick pic before meeting anyway.
It is difficult on sites like this but people do meet so I think patience is a necessity ; ) |

It's pointless giving anyone profile tips, even if their profile is "shit".
People with amazing profiles can be boring as fuck.
People with shit profiles can be brilliant fun.

Just tell him to briefly describe what he is looking for, Something about himself, Likes and dislikes or things he will do and not do and a good selection of pictures will help,
But like other people have said, If people don't like the look of him they wont even read the profile, |

Chat.
No point having a lengthy profile (possibly from other people's suggestions) but being crap at chat.

I'm not even sure anyone reads profiles. I basically don't even have one and I do alright and get loads of messages (by single male standards that is). God knows what'll happen when I do decide to write a proper one!
The only suggestion I'd make to any guy regarding his profile would be to not talk about your cock like it's the best and only thing about you or to mention how great a fuck you are. You'll just look like a bit of a bell end, in my opinion. Like I say though, I'm not sure anyone really reads them, certainly not initially anyway. |

I always read them. Even the super long ones. And for people I have zero intention of meeting, too. I don't know why. It's why I like the funny ones, though. Makes the reading more enjoyable.

The popular men who use the forum are popular because of their interaction on the forum, not what's written on their profile. Their personality is evident from their input into the various topics in the forum. A lot also attend socials too.
I am also of the opinion that people should write their own profiles and not have help from others. It creates a false representation.
And writing a profile is as easy as writing your address. You basically write about yourself and what you are looking for and enjoy. If someone can't write a few paragraphs about themselves then it's pretty poor. |

You could write an essay about yourself on here for your profile and it would not make a difference because the simple fact is 99 percent of the user Base here goes on looks. If the face don't fit a great profile read then it won't matter.
This is why everyone jumps to the pictures first to see what people look like and if they like the look of the person they'll make an effort to read the damn thing but the mind is usually made up within the first 9 seconds of seeing someone's face. |

I've had compliments on my profile (not necessarily leading to meets).
As a single male, I have to do something to try to stand out from the crowd.
My looks aren't amazing, so I'm trying to win people over with my personality. That way, they might read the carefully crafted emails I send. |

99 percent of the time, its about the pictures, not the profile.
Have the best profile in the world, but without pictures which appeal, its much harder going. Taken as a whole across the site, its far better to objectify yourself in photos than top try and convey your personality because that's not what 90 percent of people on this site want - rightly or wrongly.
If your happy to turn yourself in to a set of physical USPs, I think you can have far more success than a decent personality projected through a profile. Majority on here are not looking for Wordsworth, but rather for someone who can Shake their Spear.
A couple of years a go on a 'Who is the best male on Fab' thread in which someone posted 'I know who he is, he's a bit of dick-head but that doesn't matter because he's as fit as fuck and a fantastic shag'. I think she summed it up the raison-d'etre of this site very well.

Ahh yes, the awards. Voted for by less than 20 percent of the forum users, who themselves make up less than half of one percent of the overall site users.
Majority site vote? No.
Social circle of Forum users? Probably more accurate.

I like to think mine's pretty reasonable, based on content and respectfulness. My one public photo is obscured for professional reasons, but I always send a couple of honest face photos with a carefully thought-out individual message to any lady or couple. Can any lady confirm if it's a good one please? xx |

"Alright... so, a single male's just asked me for advice on his profile, and I suggested that he looked at profiles of male forum users that are popular - or the ones that I like & that have caught my eye in the past - to get an idea of the way that those men phrase themselves... but with a warning not to copy & paste other people's profile texts!
So which single male profiles would you say are the best, based on profile text?"
I believe mine is OK and once I increase my gallery it should be better. Your thoughts lovely ladies are appreciated. |

"Didn't some geezer copy and paste one a few months ago then spit his dummy out when rumbled?"
Mine got stolen a while ago by a guy on I-can't-get-any-meets thread, but the amazing thing was he refused to admit he'd done anything wrong....for ages! |

I had been on the thread earlier when he was asking for help with his profile, then went away and came back a little later and noticed he'd been getting favourable comments about his revised and amended profile, so I took a look only to find it was mine word for word!
Naturally I reported him, |

Profiles are very important to me, it tells me alot about someone. If someone hasn't a clue how to write a decent profile then they are not for me.
It's your selling point on here. First port of call. I've often messaged guys just to say what a well written profile they have.

But also a good place to let people know what you're after from the site as well |

No matter how good looking someome is I'm not going to message them if I don't have a starting point.

"Hows mine read???
You need to start a new thread rather than hijack this one
sorry didnt mean to hijack or offend anyone"
In one sense ignore him, as others have done what you did. In another sense don't ignore him as you're likely to get more attention if you start your own thread. |

Its arguable that male forum users are popular because of their posts rather than their profiles? Or that they are more sociable in their mode of communication and that is why they meet .... so, it does not follow that they have the best profiles. I think to get a truly representative sample, best to look at all single males, perhaps within an area or age range and compare them. then again, do listed meets necessarily show anyone's popularity ... how do you really know how popular someone is or how much work they have to put into it? How much is it the profile, or how much is it something else, like pictures, messages, etc. I don't think I've met any single guys off the forums, and any that I would like to meet would be because of their banter, not their profile ... |

No point reading my profile.
I read all the profiles of any guy that looks popular and take the best bits for my own. It means I have a very long but totally meaningless profile.
But at least it looks like I've made the effort on a quick look.
Some people may think that makes me shallow. Their right. |

Some time I just give up on reading some profiles!!
They are either ridiculously long.
Or way to try hard funny.. Crammed full of crap jokes and funny a copied and pasted from else where!
Or just a list of moans and dislikes! Who wants to listen to that haha.
I like straight to the point! But I guess reading a woman profile is different to being a mans profile.
A man has to be amazing in every way in a profile write up! |

You didn't get nominated for anything then?
But you're right, the forums are a small part of Fab.
I had a feeling someone would be along with the 'sour grapes' observation "
I'm glad you're not dissapointed.
I did agree with you though. |
