Just caught up on part 1.
I'm really keen to lose my weight from 2016 and keep on track rather than giving up at the first hurdle but my stomach always thinks my throat has been cut |

I'm definitely going to try and be fit and healthy in 2016.
I have very good willpower when I put my mind to it, it's just getting in the right mindset in the beginning that can be hard. |

Drink water.. It stops the hunger and rehydrates in between meals. I've just got a fruit infused water bottle off Ebay. Have a look.. If anything it's a push for me to do something other than eat all the chocolate left over from Xmas! |

Well as I said before just a bit of weight to get off to get back down to my lowest but I've been planning my exercise.
It's nothing compared to others but I need to get my self in a routine of going for long walks, back to swimming and one class which maybe aqua aerobics as the times I've done it I've loved it and had so much fun.
So really I'd say getting myself active rather than exercising as such.

i became really disheartened after my 5 and 1/2 lb gain last week as i truly felt id stuck on plan (slimming world) and resisted crazy amounts of temptation around me.
im not sure if pain killers/constipation/water retention contributed to that gain.. but ive been on plan since my Wednesday weigh in, lots of fruit and veg and drinking more.
once again my fingers are crossed for a loss on the scales

posts like this do make me chuckle
you admit to yourself you want to loose a few pounds, youve set a date when your going to start the 'diet' which will involve some kind of change
but before the hard work starts your going to indulge and potentially gain a few pounds because you wont throw away foods you know will not help you?
why not just save yourself the potential gain and not eat it. Donate food you can to food banks or throw it away |

Park Run New Year day. Totally mispaced it (rarely ever race 5km) but a solid enough 24 minutes. 15 miles on the bike tonight blowing the cobwebs out from a night's clubbing on Saturday.
I'll have been sober 5 months later this week. Have done Birthday, Christmas and NY in the last 3 weeks I'm quite proud of being able to say that.

Try split set german volume training. 10 sets of 10 as heavy as you can safely manage...but instead of resting do 10 sets of 10 with a bodyweight exercuse inbetween sets...try squats/decline pressups or deadlifts/burpees.
Another good one is a one month blast doing sets of 50/40/30/20/10 then 10/20/30/40/50 |

"Had all the calories I want today and theyve come in at 690 and I've had sufficient.
Its also the first day I'm back to writing everything down
Youve only eaten 690 calories!?what do you mean only? I've upped it from the 400 I used to have predecember. It's quite sufficient for me.
Ive been reading this thread with interest. May I ask what you were eating at 400 calories? Didnt you feel hungry at all? I wasn't hungry no, for my main calories id have a slimfasts or tin of soup and then a few cheese crackers. I stopped eating food altogether apart from that. I got down to target and wanted to start introducing bits of food again, I put on a few pound so when that's gone I'm going to try and maintain at around 800 calories aday. Would I recommend it to anyone then the answer is no but its suited me
Are you taking supplements like vitamins, fish oil that kind of thing as you're not eating much. Or do Slimfasts contain all you need? I do have supplements but there more for my age. I have full blood tests every six months and all my levels on everything are perfect.
Fish is the one thing I have started to put back in my diet I'm not fussed about meat "
I'm re thinking supplements at the moment, more age related than dietary. I don't eat red meat but I eat fish at least twice a week ~ need to find a way to up my iron levels. |

Lots of spinach in smoothies or iron tablets.
Remember though if you consume iron and calcium at the same time the calcium will generally prevent much of the iron being absorbed

I see your around the same age as me, how good is your gp. Could you go for a chat and ask for full bloods to see if you have any deficiencies, if you have then you can work from there. I used to be vitamin d deficient but I'm not now but i have all mine done six monthly and he shows me on the screen the difference from last time and he gives me a print out

I have signed up for a 5k Bubble Rush race in May for a local hospice fund raiser.
It is my first goal to work towards. I plan to be able to walk it without stopping. That might sound easy but how unfit I am at the moment is horrendous.
I will be borrowing the family dogs to walk to motivate me to get out there.
I know the dieting information from going to slimming world classes. I just need to follow the plan. |

I had a break for a few days over Christmas and ate a lot of the things I'd been missing, I think that's the key to long term weightloss, don't drive yourself mad with hunger every day, relax now and then, eat whatever you want say one-two days a week, and diet strictly on the others. How long it takes you to reach your goal isn't as important to me as making sure that I do. |

Totally agree. I can't do "cheat" days, because I have no self control, but I have strict and less strict days during the week and always do best when I mix things up a bit. |

Hah, you can tell Sunday is weigh-in day.
5lbs off this week, which I know is going to be mostly water weight and it will settle down, but its a big deal for me.
I'm walking to my Mums today so that helps, and she usually cooks healthily. Problem tomorrow as I am going to London for work and its a fast day, so I'll have to pack lunch and dinner. |

"Simply wanted to say that I weighed almost 16 stone two months ago, since then I've managed to lose nearly 3 stone, I'll post before and after pictures when I'm done with the dieting.
Good for you SB especially over Christmas period
I'm trying to do similar! 13.5lbs off since Boxing Day.
I had a break for a few days over Christmas and ate a lot of the things I'd been missing, I think that's the key to long term weightloss, don't drive yourself mad with hunger every day, relax now and then, eat whatever you want say one-two days a week, and diet strictly on the others. How long it takes you to reach your goal isn't as important to me as making sure that I do."
I've learnt not to associate the word diet with what I am eating, otherwise I just start having cravings for food like crisps & cheese which I don't normally eat in abundance. Successful long term weight loss for me has been not to obsess how long it's taking to shift & just to happy that's it's shifting! |

"I'm back at slimming world to make a dent in my 4 stone. On the plus side, am still a stone and a half lighter than I was last January and managed to lose a few pounds in the week between Christmas and new year "
You don't look like you would survive losing four stone! |

"50kg squats reached yesterday, only a handful of reps with a spot but I'm doing well with 15 reps at 40kg so thought I'd give it a try.
Might not be a lot to some of you but for 5/6 months I couldn't exercise at all due to injury. I only got back in the gym mid Nov.
Been to the gym 6 times in 2016 already.
I know what that was like pulled knee and stopped from September through to December it's better now but still struggle to run in pavements "
Find a bit of grass a football field maybe and run there, were not made to run on pavement it will ruin your knees if youre having problems already plus you may get a better workout on grass especially if the grounds heavy like it is now! Feel the burn |

I find it easier if i don't deny myself anything because then i get grumpy because i can't have what i want. I just have small amounts of the bad things and try not to have them too often. |

Carbs are ok just need to be eaten at the right time.
If I go low carb I just can't function and have no energy. I have carbs for breakfast then high GI food straight after a workout. |

I'm really keen to lose my weight from 2016 and keep on track rather than giving up at the first hurdle but my stomach always thinks my throat has been cut "

Just had my blood pressure done at the docs...
96/58 with a resting heart rate of 55...
Then she asked me if I got out of breath walking up stairs... |

Actually under 90 for the first number or 60 for the second is considered low so being breathless or faint is quite possible x |

Totm nearly stopped me today as my back was in bits but pushed through and it actually took the edge off the pain. Nothing too intense though. |

Went to fat club tonight, and have put half a pound on. In my first week. There must be some sort of badge for that.
Anyway, this week will be better |
