We used to go regularly to a house party on a Wednesday night. It was very structured with time, the hosts were excellent organisers.
The party would start at about 8 with drinks and nibbles, time to chat to those in attendance. The hostess would initiate play at about 9.30 until 11am and then it would finish.
It wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but it stopped the talking for hour's. You could either join in the play or watch or continue to chat. it was very popular with many couples attending and it wasn't too late a night for midweek. |

"I regularly go to parties held on a Thursday evening - as that's my only guaranteed child-free night! "
Lots of things to consider nowadays, but tried without success so far. Perhaps its because i'm a single male! |

I used to go to a club on a Thursday night till 2am in my younger years
If I could find a party that started at 7 and finished at 11 in the south Herts,
Middlesex corridor that would really work for me |
