"If money was no object then yes I would.
I can't think of a good reason why they shouldn't but im sure some illogical arguments will come this way."

No right or wrong really, if you have the money to do it, then go ahead. |

If I had £67,000, I would spend it to get my old car cloned into a new car |

I doubt I would get on with anyone who felt it was worth announcing to the world that they were spending such an amount on a project of this type....
But hey-ho,,,,,, it's their money... |

I was heartbroken when my last dog died;
But it would have not been " the same" to replicate him.
By the way, it is a misconception that a cloned animal ( or person) will look and behave the same as the original, even if it has identical genes.

"I wouldn't pay that to bring a family member back let alone a dog.
Things die, suck it up and move on "
I take your point. We should stop looking for cures immediately. It would save the world a fortune.
Things die suck it up.... love it. |

Really ? Behaviour I can accept but looks ? A clone should look the same surely. |

My Bulldog hmmmmmm not sure? You could never duplicate his personality and I would constantly compare the two which would not be healthy.
I would just get another dog in time and cherish the memories of my previous dog.
Rather spend that money on another deposit for a house to let out and a holiday. |

"No i wouldn't. Part of the richness of life is variety. A clone won't bring back a lost loved one so i don't See the point.
If it was cloned it would be exactly the same - genetically. "
It might be genetically the same but would most probably not look the same , and not behave the same.
There are, for instance plenty of genetically identical twins who look completely different ( different colour hair, eyes, body shapes, height) |

That doesn't make it the same animal, it'd just be like the original dog's twin sibling. Why not just get another dog that's very similar?
It's kind of obscene to spend that kind of money when so many people have nothing in this world. |

I didn't say stop looking for cures, stop putting words in my mouth.
Once a thing has died though, let's leave it that way and make room for the next generation that needs to come through |

Yes but it wouldn't be your beloved pet. |
