did anyone have a lonely xmas
Jump to: Newest in thread
Xmas isn't over yet!
However, I spent the run up to Xmas on my own.
Xmas day with mum n dad.
Now spending time alone until Wednesday when I have 4 days work. Most of that will be spent alone.
Then back home next Saturday evening, to spend a number of days alone again.
Do I get lonely? Well, maybe a bit occasionally, but I grew up being a loner.
Sad? No.
What keeps me going?
It's better to spend Christmas alone than with the wrong person.
I've not had to worry about a wife frantically sending text messages, grinning, laughing, and then telling me "Oh, it's just random from my mate"
I've not had to worry about leaving the bog seat up.
I've not had to worry about offending the in laws.
I've watched what I want, listened to what I want.
I washed up when I was ready to wash up.
Cud ave bin wurse! |

"We had a great Xmas was quiet but lovely, I think Christmas is what you make it. Just because you on your own doesn't mean Xmas has to be miserable!"
Easy to say if you're not on your own. Hard if it's the first one for anyone if they lost a loved one in the year for example. |

I've had plenty of christmas' on my own before meeting Mr and that's how I learned that Christmas is what you make it, for those who really don't like being alone at Christmas they could easily do some charity work during the holiday season or visit elderly neighbours etc! |

And for the ones who have a lost a loved one during the year? Do you really think they would want to do that? |
