It was live once in 1970 but had to be pre-recorded ever since the incident where Prince Philip chucked a sprout at her when she finished, viewers briefly heard her shout 'Fuck off Phil'.

Is your point that the office of head of state should go to the person/organisation that pays most tax?

Phil might well be a top bloke, and I think few would disagree that Liz has done a good job, but that doesn't mean a hereditary Monarchy is right.

. It might be a nice thought to believe that everyone is born equally , but this will never be the case .

Some people will be good looking , others strong and powerful , and others highly intelligent . Some will be born into wealth .

There is no such thing as a fair and equal society . You have to make the most of what you have got .

That's true but no argument for a hereditary Monarchy.

Also, if you're better looking than me, wealthier, a different sex or skin tone doesn't mean that you're better than me or I'm better than anyone else.

Phil looks good for 94 isn't a reason either. I've never said they don't do a good job. They could always stand in an elected system you know.

While I'm at it..... You're absolutely right, the system for deciding who our head of state is should be decided on the basis of what tourists like to see.

I'm pretty sure tourists visit the White House anyway

While I'm still at it..... I don't think it's good for a society to instill in it the belief that some are born better than others. And that's only one reason.

Two really good arguments well made. Third world poverty is what it is, slavery was what it was, women not being able to vote was what it was. I'm glad the latter two changed and I'm doing think it being what it is is any argument against trying to find a solution tp third world poverty.

I'm pretty sure tourists would visit London if we had an elected head of state. I don't know this but am guessing not many tourists get tosee, or come with the expectation of seeing Big Liz 2 x

Do you honestly think the Queen breaks from getting the servants to play charades, or playing with her new iPod (the Scotts guards - they go everywhere with one and play all one's favourite tunes) to sully herself by doing telly?

They probably sit around and watch it though...

Harry: "I like, can't believe you like said that, gran, surprised face, surprised face."

Phil: "What ARE you wearing, gal?!"

Charles: "Ggggg... Ghastly."

Queenie: "Shut up you terrible lot, Eastenders is on shortly

. A good post . Ma ny people are an architect of their own mis fortunes . In any event there is a statutory duty for the council to house most homeless people

Yes. I recon as well they all watch it, so when its time they all text each other as the palace is big to gather around the tv in the living room and they got the haribos ready as well.

The correct description of our form of government is constitutional monarchy, not 'hereditary' as quoted. We have a head of state who happens to be a monarch with over a thousand years of history behind the institution, rather than a Hasbeen former politician or elected politician.

God save the Queen.
