As a single guy this year I have decided to spend Christmas at home alone rather then with my parents and siblings. It may sound strange but I am looking forward to it but of course I may have moments of loneliness. Any other singles out there are you doing similar?

Sometimes it's nice being alone without any hassle and rushing around keeping people happy .

I chose to work all Christmas.

I have only ever worked on Christmas Day when I worked on cruise ships. Maybe some volunteer work I may consider next year

Bristol.

over the years I have varied my xmas routine.

For a lot of years I worked for different charities, then the family came along and once or twice I chose to be alone.

It can be quite difficult, esp if you have expectations, the 24 hours can seem like forever,a widower I know once told me that she treats it like any other day, doesnt but special food, does a bit of housework and watches a bit more tv,she rejecys all offers from family, friends and neighbours and actually enjoys the day.

For anyone who cant handle it,the Samaritans are available 24hours,it is one of their busiest days. 0845 7 90 90 90. hope it is ok for you

Well I can well imagine Christmas is the Samaritans busiest day. And probably a lot of relationships on the rocks get finished off by Christmas
