For the past 20 ish year can't remember when I started it I don't drink alcohol until the weekend of my bday. The first year I did it I lasted til July as part of a bet, now I just do it til around 11th Feb. Anyone else abstain from drinking in the new year?

Nah. I just never drink to excess.

I know my limits and if I ever felt the need for drink I'd never touch the stuff again.

I barely drink as it is, since my birthday in October I've maybe had a pint & a half of cider all together. Getting pissed doesn't do much for me.

I decided to have a dry January. It was May before I realised I'd not had a drink. I used to be pretty much tee total... now I have a wine buddy who is a terrible influence.

We make our own wine and lager so I don't think we will be going on the wagon

Despite the dreadful brouhaha with the Bailey's I'm a moderate drinker at the best of times so have never thought about abstaining for any period of time.

When I finish a drink, I abstain until the next one.
