I've bought some earrings for a close friend but she can't tell her partner they are from me, trouble is most offer jewellery has been bought by him, she never buys herself anything like it so how can she explain them?

Two choices. She tells him you bought them or you take them back for a refund.

Why can't she tell him?

Personally if I knew buying someone a gift would cause friction in their relationship i would stay well clear.

Sounds like She's gonna have to think of an excuse as to why she's bought them as a treat for herself

I'm a sneaky devil...with no conscience when it comes to jewellery.

Get her to wrap them up using paper she's bought and just shove them in with her presents and feign she has no idea who got them her.

Maybe she shouldn't be accepting presents from you if she knows her partner wouldn't be happy about it!

If the earrings are more important than her relationship with him, she should keep the earrings. Are you a friend only? Is she not allowed to have friends?

Then, one day, she will receive a present, some earrings, and you will scratch your head and wonder .... only joking, op, I think its a bit of a storm in a teacup. Mr wouldn't bother if I got something from someone else ... it would not ever come close to anything we have in terms of a relationship, so a pair of earrings would never come between us. I wouldn't be in a relationship with someone who might be bothered by a pair of earrings from a friend ...
