Ok I know I am a bad cat owner but I have a water spray always at hand but....tree has been up since Friday and he is driving me mad by interfering with it since, then there are the present decorations under it that he just will not leave alone.

Now my dad (I know I am spoilt) has just dropped off my Santa bag of presents and is he happy until I have emptied it? OH No! He wants the bag! Understandable...Now he want anything that is attached to the bloody presents! Jesus this is worse than having a kid! No wonder I have the water spray gun lol It's the only way to regain some level of control does anyone else have animals that think they control their environment?

not a good idea to spray water at the cat in the tree as you may electrocute the fooker

Don't even...

My mum's cat gets mardy when she doesn't get what she wants, and she acts up like a bloody toddler.

My parents have this pin sculpture thing, that's set in a frame and you can make imprints in it and it has a piece of tough plastic on the front, and we've had it a good fifteen years at least. Anyway, she was up to no good the other night, jumped up where she's not meant to go, it fell off the bookcase, the corner chipped off, the cover's got a crack right across the front and a row of the pins is fucked. It's fucking older than she is!

He's already broke 2 favorite ornaments of mine by going where he knew he wasn't allowed, I went 3 days without speaking to him and that is when he realised I wasn't happy with him! He doesn't have a long memory unfortunately

Sounds like a man

Three days is a bit OTT though. Me & my mum both told the cat off, then she stropped off and sat in the hallway by herself for an hour... the cat, not my mum. I told her Sandy Claws wouldn't bring her presents for being naughty

Cat nip.or felliway plug in.. Will chill him out a bit.

Or sainsbury sell cat laser pointers so you can distract him with that.

My cat used to take quality street out a glass dish, and whack them at the radiators to make a noise!

We have two kittens and no tree up this year.

You cannot sit up 24 hours a day patrolling your tree......so it can do its own thing when you go out or to sleep.

It's a choice, tree or kitty.

Cannock

When I had a cat years ago he would not leave the Christmas tree alone, always wanted to climb it. Woke up one morning and tree was leaning up against the wall, cat must have climbed it in the night and knocked it over.

In the end the solution was to put clementine/satsuma/orange peel around the base of the tree, cat would not go anywhere near it then as he hated the smell, lol.

My tree has been met with vague indifference from my cat. The two little penguins that I put on the end of her radiator shelf on the other hand... I found one of them in my bedroom when I got home from work!

They're currently back on the floor having suffered in the mad half hour!

My sister has 4 cats, the tree was up for less than a day before they had wrecked it. A Christmas tree is a playground for cats,we should know better. I was lucky with my cat,she left the decorations alone in favour of sitting in the branches waiting for someone to sit down next to the tree.

My kitties are night time meddlers. They collect assorted things.....socks off the airing horse, pens , glasses bits of pot pourri and proceed to scatter their prizes all over the house. It's hide and seek every day to find things.

I have 1 cat I came home one day and my tree was on the floor the baubles where dotted around the house. However, that was the first and last time he ever done it as he knows better cause as soon as I raise my voice and call his name he runs straight under my bed. The wee shite that he is but I'd be lost without him.

My cat is a keen investigator of anything new in the home, whether it be clothes, furniture or decorations.

To all intents and purposes, it's like I live with him, and not the other way around.

He gets away with murder.

Really, I have a small real bergamot tree (lemon/orange hybrid) and on the first day I had it one of my cats climbed it, knocked off a fruit and then played with that. If anyone trys to tell you all cats like/dislike anything you can always find an exception, and usually it is one of my beasts.

I sprayed orange and lemon juice behind the tv once when mine were going through a phase of messing on with the wiring. One of them was then sat licking it up

I just did something something disgusting

I'm eating belly pork for lunch, cat at my side looking hopeful... so I chew some in my mouth and then leave it slightly regurgitated, hanging from my lips for the cat to snatch, which she does.

Pretty vile, huh?

Don't worry... occasionally my mum leaves bits of meat close to tge edge of the plate, the cat then sits on her chair and eats it straight off the plate.

Her name is Midnight, for reasons that are obvious. She came with the house.

I wanted to change her name to Enword but the missus blocked it on the grounds tat our small town isn't ready for such post-modern humour
