Jewellery advertised on the back page of magazines

Has anyone ever bought any jewellery from the back page of a magazine, usually a TV guide type of mag. In my TV guide this week is a solid silver ring encashed in diamonds, a snip at £99.99 and you can pay in handy £19.99 instalments.

Or theres the footprints necklace and pendant on a solid gold plated chain, with footprints on the front of the pendant, and a poem on the back.

Tiffany and Cartier have nothing on these

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

I suspect it`s either of "dubious" quality or overpriced. It always makes me laugh when you see similar stuff on Price Drop TV or whatever and it always seems to end up seliing for about what you`d pay for it if you bought it from a shop anyway!

isn't "solid gold plated" something of a contradiction?

Ive never bought jewellery but when I was a child my mum bought a real fur coat from the back of a newspaper, the same thing, pay in installments

She had always wanted one and was sooooo excited

It gave her a massive allergic reaction and she had to get rid of it

Why piss your money on that tat when you could get a perfectly good Wills & Katie/Princess Di/Jade Goody dinner set for the same price.

Handcrafted by children in a Taiwanese factory.

And in a limited, numbered edition of only 250,000.

*taste optional*
