Britain set for hottest December in 70 years

Jump to: Newest in thread

No white Christmas? The chances of snow this year is very slim and we have seen the hottest December in 70 years.

The warm weather has brought about some bizarre sights in gardens and parks, including daffodils blooming, despite their usual season for flowering being between February and May.

Is this due to climate change or has earth entered another phase?

Here in London we have had about 13c everyday, what about where you are? Today it is 16c and very warm. I have a t-shirt on

"The world is coming to a end!! Lol jokes but slowly we are killing the planet "

No we're not.

The earth has survived 5 or 6 (depending on how you count) Mass Extinction Events in the last 2bn years.

It doesn't matter how much we fuck the planet, give ta a few 10s of millions of years it will reset, reconfigure.

What you're talking about is fucking the human race.

You cannot equate one warm winter with climate change, influenced by humans or otherwise.

What's even weirder is that the temperature isn't fluctuating at night. 15 degree nights? That's what I hope for in Octobers!

It's all this cloud. As soon as that shifts, it'll be frosty!

"Global warming, anyone?"

Snow and ice aren't 'usual' for the planet.. We're still in an ice age. The ice caps will melt and then refreeze and then melt etc etc. They've been melting for thousands of years.. Back when there were no fossil fuels and pollution.. So it's not really people that are causing global warming.. It's just happening.

I'm no expert though so feel free to disregard this comment

I had this very discussion a few weeks back... There's very little chance at all that anything will ever follow us!

The human race is a 1 in 5 billion fluke of evolution!

It's very hard to equate one particular piece of weather with man made climate change...

However what you can say is the long term average is not what were experiencing recently.

I often think that the month of august has radically changed from my days as a youth!

They were listening to Mr corbyn Jr

They predicted the worst winter for 70 yeas?.

You can't predict past 7 days weather it's impossible right now.

What's happening now is weather.the wind is pulling hot air in.

humans are without doubt changing the long term global temperatures and we need to act to stop the change for our benifit

the earth will be here long after we have made uninhabitable for ourselves.
