Cognitive dissonance.
Also hot burgers are nice. Cold beer is nice if it's a crisp lager. Slightly cool but not cold for a hoppier brew. Coffee is nice hot or iced. But warm ice cream isn't ice cream. It loses itself when it gains in temperature. |

But ice cream smothered in hot rhubarb and vanilla compote is rather wonderful, even if the ice cream melts a little faster than normal  |

I'm more of a hot chocolate fudge sauce over ice cream girl but rhubarb and vanilla sounds lush. The ice cream is still ice cream if you eat it quick enough; a little melting is fine, but fully liquefied is disappointing. |
