"If you know anyone else who might be on there own (lots of older people are) maybe invite one or two around. X"
After lunch. I am visiting the local care home to sit with some of the residents for a cuppa and chin wag |

"If you wanted to go the traditional roast dinner route why not get a poussin or a guinea fowl. A bit different from the norm and only small."
Otherwise I'd have fillet steak. |

"Try and book somewhere? Saves all the hassle of cooking and shopping and any excess waste."
I'm happy to eat out alone but on Christmas Day? We've done it once as a family and it was beyond awful. I don't want to spend my day with a whole bunch of other people's families!
I'd much rather treat myself to an M&S shopping trip round the food hall and stay in my pjs at home watching shit TV and eating lovely things! |

What I did one year was cut the bones out of a turkey leg so the meat was flat, topped it in sausage meat and sage and onion stuffing, then rolled it and wrapped it in bacon,
Made mash and roast potatoes along with a prepared roast veg mix from asda
A starter and dessert is up to you, I had tomato and basil soup, and a trifle |

The deserts in the M&S look amazing this year. Gold millionaire bars, chocolate mouse crackers totally yummy.
I'm booked in for surgery on the 23rd so I will be having Christmas dinner in hospital this year |

"Hi
I'm looking for ideas ?
Don't fancy cooking a full Christmas dinner for one
Suggestions please
No fish though
"
I cook a turkey & enough root veg for two days, then lightly reheat the veggies & other leg & wing on boxing day.
The rest of the breast & meat I cut into large chunks & add to a pre-slowcooked Sri Lankan red curry a la Rick Stein!
Delicious & lots of frozen ready meals
in the freezer.
perfect for the lazy cook like me, - & really cheap!! |

I went to a local restaurant on my own for Christmas dinner a few years ago. Saved shopping, cooking, washing up, wasted food, spoilt food, etc etc.
Well cooked and we'll served.
On the flip side it was the most solitary, lonely, gut wrenchingly miserable thing I've ever done.
Stayed home the following year and had beans on toast..... |

You could try this, although I wouldn't recommend it, not even for your dog http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/game-introduces-a-tinned-christmas-dinner-for-gamers/0125371 |

The co-op are selling a Christmas meal deal which includes all the stuff you need to make a Christmas dinner with little fuss plus (I think) a vienetta for desert and it's all frozen so you only cook what you need and save the rest it's £10 I don't think it's a bad deal. |

Put them pots and pans away.. Plenty of pubs open xmas day. £30 odd quid for a meal but no washing up either! |
