Back in the 90's I adored them both. Now I can't stand Oasis at all and I love Blur more than ever.

Oasis, blur are a bunch of pretentious pricks, who I dislike immensely, Damon albarn criticises the likes of Bob geldof for not including African artists in live aid, oh yeah albarn, how many lives have you saved, two good songs and you think you know it all, geldof was successful when you were shitting in your pants and at your mommys tit,

So yeah, oasis, even though Liam is a knob!

Jarvis Cocker was the king of Brit pop

Britpop was an awful era and Oasis were an awful awful band. The best bands of that era were Pulp and Auteurs, both of who got lumped in to the scene by lazy journalists but were musically and lyrically far far superiior

"Britpop was an awful era and Oasis were an awful awful band."

Couldn't agree more, it takes no talent to write miserable pseudo-philosophical drivel (I know this because I do it myself - a lot), the only thing I like about Noel Gallagher is the fact he hates Kanye West, who is in himself a monumentally pretentious, talentless wanker.

This was certainly my view at the time. I mellowed a bit later and began to see that Blur weren't all bad. Still it will always be Oasis for me

They wasn't. They didn't chart until around 1998, still a good band that's stood the test of time.

Oh so many of my favourites get a mention here.

I agree with the love for Jarvis Cocker. Louise Wener of Sleeper still has a space in my heart and I listened to the Longpigs today for the first time in a long time and it made me feel all hapoy inside.

3rd time lucky for Ocean Colour Scene, failed as Smiths wannabees, failed at baggy but being Weller's backing band finally got them famous and not relying on being bankrolled by Daddy while pretending to be poor

They were responsible for one of mu fave ever Glastonbury moments though
