Mine is only going up this weekend for this very reason. The cats are already doing my head in messing on with it, and there aren't even any decorations on it yet.

I put mine up on the 1st, I don't mind it, well I don't spend that much time in the lounge to be honest, we've only got the tree up and a festive fire place this year so not over the top, however come 27th it will be down.

I don't believe in the 'shouldn't be up by so an so' you bring your own luck and all that
