Married?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Silly me, somewhere along the line I've been neglecting to ask the single men if they are in a relationship.

So it had to happen that I ended up having lunch with a married man. It was a lovely lunch and I told him about Fabswingers.

So ladies, there maybe another single, non-single guy coming onto Fab.

I don't get the purpose of this post

If he's a nice guy then leave it at that.

He may be open about his marital status on his profile, so why queer the pitch and tar all single blokes as married ?

And not all married men pretend to be single

He isn't here. If he joins I'd be happy to verify him as real .

Where's my tar? Nothing in my post is judgemental, tongue-in-cheek yes.

If his story is true, his wife is aware. I've advocated that (a) he and his wife sort out where their relationship is going, and (b) he tells any potential date the truth before meeting.

Well done me, if he follows my advice

Are you baiting me? I assumed he was single because (a) I request SINGLE men, and (b) no information was given to make me believe otherwise.

It does not concern me that he may be a liar for as soon as he enlightened me to his relationship, I told him nothing will occur between us at this, or any other time.

People can hide behind a profile but if they lie to me outright then that is a different story!

Well try doing that yourself you two. And 'shit-eating grin'? It was a bloody emoticon we all use!

All I see from you is some pretty foul language, a lot of very judgemental attitudes and even more argumentative digs. What part of 'They were just having lunch and she found out he was married don't you quite understand?

Did the lady shag his brains out? We don't know and if she did its none of our business.

Was there anything further. We don't know. And again its none of our business.

I always thought we all came into swinging because we are open minded, accepting of other people, their looks, their preferences etc. I see none of that with you two to be honest.

Just cos it's a swinging site doesn't mean everything is acceptable. Normal social standards still apply.

You may eat shit when you grin, I wouldn't know, I, however just grin when I banter which could be me in a jokey mood or downright sarcastic. That grin isn't shouting out to the world "hey world, I met a guy for a nice lunch, he told me he is actually married and hasn't dated in 19 years and was dead nervous in meeting me".

That grin wasn't even shouting "hey world, he believes his marriage is over but wifey won't talk, though is okay something may happen".

It didn't shout that but could have done. Neither did it about the untrue statement that cheating is fine.

Stop adding 2+2 and making 5.

"So he told you he was single before you met?

I assumed because he lives at X and visits his children at Y on weekends.

You've assumed a lot it seems. Do you honestly think he's telling the truth at all?

Are you baiting me? I assumed he was single because (a) I request SINGLE men, and (b) no information was given to make me believe otherwise.

It does not concern me that he may be a liar for as soon as he enlightened me to his relationship, I told him nothing will occur between us at this, or any other time.

Just sounds like you want to believe his bullshit to ease your conscience. Your lookout love. If it really doesn't concern you that you've given a married person info on a swingers site to carry on the way they are then take a little look at yourself

My conscience is absolutely fine thank you very much. I shoulder zero guilt. A person will attempt to cheat with or without my input. I have advocated honesty for all concerned.

So darling, just jump down from that high horse before a slight breeze knocks you off.

I don't think it's taking a moral high ground to believe condoning cheating and gloating about it is wrong.

Who is condoning or gloating?

You were. Gloating - you saying "well done me", condoning - you saying as long as he tells people it's fine.

The "well done me" was a sarcastic response to a sarcastic retort made by a previous poster. Feel free to back track your gloating accusation.

I advocated him being honest with everyone and sorting out his relationship. Feel free to backtrack your accusation that I condone cheats.

If I were wrong, I wouldn't have chosen to say it. In fact, the whole original post is gloating and condoning.

You ARE wrong, like it or lump it. It is YOUR assumption on the limited information I put in the opening post. The OP is actually me calling myself out on the fact that I hadn't ensured the guy was single.

Stick with your opinion by all means. I fully understand some people cannot backtrack for fear of egg on face

Yes - of course I'm wrong, of course the sentiment of every post you've made has changed since its been commented on, and of course I'm far too embarrassed to say it's not gloating or condoning cheating. "

Bless your little cotton socks, all I have done is given more information out on each post .

Just simply showing you your assumptions are wrong. Do continue to dig your heels in for I find it highly amusing.

That's patronising from a person who can't post concisely initially. And no assumptions, you posted that you met a man and once found out he was married you encouraged him to join other casual sex sites then bragged about it as if you're proud of yourself. You're entirely supporting his cheating, but I guess you need attention from somewhere

In what universe are there rules on how informative an opening post has to be? Is a book's story fully stated on the first page? No, it unfolds at a pace the AUTHOR chooses, NOT the reader.

You go ahead with that big ol' assumption that I encouraged him to cheat and I'll continue to patronise you!

"Just cos it's a swinging site doesn't mean everything is acceptable. Normal social standards still apply."

Well not quite true as 'society' is basically monogamous and by definition Swingers aren't. But even so 'normal social standards' surely dictate courtesy and acceptance of others without resorting to abuse. Just because they are different or hold different views?

Sorry when people resort to abuse they have lost the argument. And possibly the plot as well IMHO.

"What happened in here? "

A virtual crucifixion of a single woman who found out her meet was not so single. So she advised him to sort out his relationship and tell any potential date the truth. And that he'd be better off on here than Fet, for dating.

But it has been interpreted that I've gone and got my cheerleading outfit on and danced to the tune of "go jerry, go jerry, go fuck and be merry. Go cheater, go cheater, go fuck n cheat on her". Okay the rhyme isn't perfect, but you get my drift

People happily chat away to married women and men on the forum. I know it's not the same as having sex with them but for the unknowing partner that chatter, friendships and sharing of secrets may be more hurtful, more of a cheating action, than one off sex.

If I found a partner of mine chatting on the forums of swingers / sex site I would assume he was cheating or the very least thinking about it, how would he have found the site otherwise? The forum is the by product of Fab not the for the majority the main part.

Got to say I am surprised the Mods haven't had a go at few in here. Since when was it OK in a forum to use the 'C' word against someone? Maybe I just don't 'get' this swinging lark after all. Maybe 8 years isn't long enough. Or may be too long. But in this Thread I have seen some of the very worst in people.

OK disagree personal abuse? Nah not for me thanks ... I am out of this...

Just goes to show how the written word can be (mis)interpreted. I saw the op as tongue in cheek and self mocking.

Others saw it as the op patting herself on the back for encouraging a married man to cheat.

Gee whizz!!!

"If the post was calling a member a cunt on here then it would come under breaking forum rules.

As the person/ people she was calling cunts wasn't a member than they can call them what they like."

It does not concern me that he may be a liar for as soon as he enlightened me to his relationship, I told him nothing will occur between us at this, or any other time."

Did you meet him from another site, as you've said he's not on here but you requested single men? I'm confused!

Folk LOVE any reason to shove their own little set of morals down people's throats though, like carrion birds circling, lookin for any excuse...any opportunity, and bang, there are the morals bregade.

Still, gives us a laugh

One thing most people male or female do is not declare honesty.

Fab is a site where men and women should be honest full stop. Why hide?

Even messages can be false.. Lying sucks.

Happy holiday swinging...

I guess if profiles declare married most avoid them.. I know I do. Could be a reason not declared.

And they stay in a twist because my unfolding of the event is refuted. Perhaps I wasn't really there

Well I am most certainly single and very expensively so ... But people still ask 'are you married?' so what can you do?

Personally I don't mind if someone is married and on here or not its none of mine but I think people should be honest and say so then others can make an informed decision whether to take things further or not.

By the way thats a fabulous Avatar ...

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

"People happily chat away to married women and men on the forum. I know it's not the same as having sex with them but for the unknowing partner that chatter, friendships and sharing of secrets may be more hurtful, more of a cheating action, than one off sex.

Pointy fingers have others of your own pointing back at you.

If a partner regards chatting on the forums as a form of cheating, they need to get a life."

What about the PMs that get exchanged once a friendship has been forged on the forum? What about the confessions people make?

It's the other-life-away-from-a-partner thing.
