But really struggle, like me every morning.
Hating every mouthful.
I have tried many things to make it more palatable.
But think I have finally found something that works.yeah it's not as healthy and adds a few calories.
But, cook porridge as normal then pour either a plain or flavoured low fat muller rice ontop.
Not only does it cool it enough to eat it makes it nice and creamy. |

"So can you first of all, tell us how you previously made/ate your porridge ?
By the sounds of it - you were eating a fairly basic style? "
I have always made it the same.
Cook in microwave for three minutes.
Made with water
Usually squirt a little agave nectar on it.
I eat this as it fills me up, and not full of shit
Also am diabetic so want to regulate my blood's.
Ok the rice is not exactly mega healthy.
But better than two slices of toast.

When I've had porridge before, I liked to put sultanas in it and leave it all to soak over night. In the morning the sultanas will have absorbed some of the liquid and they go nice and juicy |

I make it with 50/50 milk and water. With just water it's awful and I always put a bit of rice syrup on it.
I vary what I eat it with: blueberries, sultanas, bananas etc. |

Yes the honey is good.
So ...
1) cook in mv with water yes. Little dash of salt before putting in mv.
2) some milk.
3) the honey. Or sugar -anything sweet.
Stir and you're good to go
Ps - some people soak the porridge overnight ,makes it a little bit softer |

Try this its lovely
Put a layer of frozen berries into a wine glass then sprinkle in some porrage oats then some yogurt(any flavour) finishing off with frozen berries on top.
Best do it the night before and the yogurt soaks into the porrage it's yummy and healthy too if you use low fat yogurt |

For those of you that use the sachets, check out the sugar content as a percentage, its scary especially the golden syrup ones. I like mine with sultanas soaked overnight, chopped mixed unsalted nuts (pnar pnar), milk and a little bit of honey but not too much. The fruit makes it sweet when it is nice and plump and you dont need much honey/sugar if any.
However tbh i never have time for all that when i am working as i dont fancy breakfast first thing. So i get the original flavour porridge pots from lidl cos they are cheap and have a bit less sugar in them than other types, and take them with me to work. I know people who have made their own pots with even less sugar in them, rolled oats and milk powder. Apparently it worked well. |

"good if your dieting as cleaning the pan uses 400kl "
Not if you don't burn the porridge
I like sultans and cinnamon in mine. Or strawberries and banana. I use half milk/half water and a teensy pinch of salt. |

"Porridge made with milk and about half a tablespoon of Manuka honey "
The doctor told my daughter to give my grandson Manuka honey because his asthma is bad. The only local one she found was £16 per jar. |

I eat it the 15+ stuff as its apparently got anti inflammatory properties which can help with crohns. It's expensive stuff but I'll give pretty much anything a try.

Porridge oats in a small tipper ware box or a jar (I use 40g) mix in some raisins or fruit or nuts, then pour over and mix in about 250ml of yoghurt.
Put in the fridge before you go to bed
When you get tup in the morning the oats are all wonderfully soft and tastey and it's a much lighter texture being cold yoghurt instead of hot and gloopy |
