Everyone receiving residential care is individually financially assessed under The Care Act and has to make a contribution towards their care. Those with over £23,500 or owns their own property has to pay the full cost.
Those with less than £14,000 are deemed to have free care but the reality is all their benefits go towards their care & they are left with @£25 per week pocket money.
No-one gets completely free care. I could go on about this until I'm blue in the face as it's part of my job |
