What type of musicals does she like? There's a load to choose from, so if she had a fav genre it may make the choice easier.

not so Littlehampton

Saw the lion king a few years back, first time I'd ever been to a musical.

It was absolutely amazing, spent as much time watching the performance as I did watching the mechanics of the stage!!

southend

We Will Rock You has closed, so has Chigago.

Wicked is awesome, but I heard rumours of that closing too. Lion King is amazing. I loved Gyspy (Imelda Staunton has a fab voice) and I've heard good things about Kinky Boots.

The Phantom of the Opera is amazing...I've seen the film so many times but the stage show actually made me cry!

I wasn't too keen on the lion king but I do love the Jersey Boys we saw it in Vegas a couple of months ago and it was fantastic.

It depends on what she likes. Lion King is wonderful. My favourite is Les Mes I have seen it over 20 timespecially in the west end and love it more but it's kinda dark and sad.

What sort of thing does she like?

More upbeat and happy I suppose there is enough sadness in the world . Someone mentioned the commitments didn't realise it was a musical great film we both loved watching

The Commitments is fun and you get to join in at the end.

I'd recommend Beautiful: The Carole King Story before it closes in February. If you like her music and her ex husband's lyrics then go to this.

There...

Hated Lion King. It's for kids and I'm not - enough said! Mamma Mia is great if you like Abba. Kinky Boots fabulous (if you loved the film!), Cats amazing (if you love Cats and Beverley Knight).

Depends what music you like and it's a very personal choice. Theatre tickets in the West End aren't cheap these days but it's a great night out Dnjoy
