Christmas party top tip

Now the Christmas party season is in full swing so to speak; I have a top tip for you.

If the function is in one of those venues that charge £100 pounds for a glass of wine, this is for you.

But a box of wine from the offy, some are quite quaffable; you then wrap it like a Christmas present leaving a mark where the tap is, ( the tap must be prepared be fore wrapping), then simply pull the tap out of the wrapping paper.

Then voila, no one questions this present on the table that magically fills your glass up.

Have a good one

Publicans struggle plenty throughout the year to make a living,Xmas being one of the few times when they try to turn a profit.any wonder many are closing down.

True and I will gladly buy my usual pint at its usual price and leave a tip too, but when corporate venues charge upwards of £5 for a drink, sometimes about £3 for a soft drink, because they have a captive audience then that's a liberty.

In fact, I actually have not gone at all to these types of parties simply because I can't afford a drink there especially on top of the cost of the function.

I agree with your sentiment regards publicans but feel that sometimes the prices charged clearly throw the moral highground out of the window.

While there is such a difference between what breweries charge pubs for their ale and what it can be bought for in supermarkets the industry is going to keep declining sadly.
