It's probably the time of year - as Christmas reminds me of the person in question - but I've heard three songs in the past 24 hours on the radio that reminds me of them... A Winter's Tale by David Essex - best not to ask - You Are Not Alone by Michael Jackson, and D*unk by Ed Sheeran. It's like a sign or some shit.
So what song reminds YOU of someone you loved? |

I'm completely blubbing at the minute watching strictly and josh grogan singing somewhere over the rainbow. One of my x's was a musician and he died of cancer nearly 10 years ago. He sang this to me and I have it recorded on an old phone. I still miss him |

Diamond In The Dark by Chris DeBurgh. Met my ex at work, we flirted across the office and then it just happened....
When she turns at her name, when she smiles,
When she smiles, I feel it again, in my heart,
Across the crowded room,
She is just a dance away,
And I can feel her like a fire thats burning strong,
She keeps looking at me,
And I know this was all meant to be,

That annoyingly catchy little tune reminds me of my ex, back in the day before polyphonic ringtones when we both had Nokia 3210's and could copy a ringtone by typing in the keys. He had it as his ringtone! |

And for my last ex, probably Platinum by Orgy - he used to play it to me on guitar all the time and apparently the lyrics fit with my personality - and Right Where It Belongs by NIN as he used to to sing me to sleep with it.
And With You by Ill Nino.

Maybe Tomorrow - Stereophonics
If you ever want to be in love - James Bay
Both songs remind me of someone that I just can't seem to forget, no matter how much I try at times |

Music was a shared hobby of mine and my ex so scores of songs remind me of him. The ones that really make me think of him are:
Blind Melon - No Rain
Barry White - You're the First, the Last, My Everything
CSS - Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above
Jane's Addiction - Been Caught Stealing
Underworld - Rez/Cowgirl
It's just as well we're still good mates and I can listen to these songs with fondness rather than pain.

You make me feel brand new. Always takes me back to Manchester train Station. April 2003.
I realised I had fallen in love for the very first time and it wasn't the man I was married to
Cry almost every time I hear it still x |

I won't give up on us. Jason Mraz.
It appeared on my answerphone over and again.
I came back to her and married her within a month.
It was our first dance and is still 'our song'.
I never felt pain like it when we were apart and I now know I was never in love before. Not like this. |

"Ouch.
Del Amitri - Be My Downfall
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwASZpIHKLY"
Actually Del Amitri is about the only album that 'takes me back' to a time I was with my ex - rather appropriately 'Lets Kiss this thing Goodbye' from, Waking Hours lol, great album though, I must listen to their newer stuff. |
