Don't pick that prickly pear by the paw, when you pick pear try to use the claw, but you don't need to use the claw when you pick a pear from the big pawpaw

They don't write them like that anymore

Watching it with my kids. It's so lovely to hear them giggling at a film that had such a big part of my childhood. My late little brother adored this film when he was a toddler. It beings back a lot of happy memories for me.

Can anyone explain to me how I know this film?

Today was, apparently the TV premiere. I haven't seen it on Dvd or vHs. I wasn't born when it was at the cinema.

And yet I know it.

...and the most exciting part of 1967 was a cartoon??? must have been a pretty sheltered life

We watched it.

Sang to the songs, laughed, cried and the time simply flew by

That is one of my all time fav movies!

We used to frequent a Jazz Club in Manchester called Ganders. The band would play and sing "I'm the king of the swingers" at least once a night to get everyone in the party spirit. Damn we were upset when that place closed.

so much for the high tech animated or special effects films of today, - rubbish in comparison!

I'll definitely be watching!

I'm so bored with modern animated programmes or movies & I haven't watched cartoon movies since I was a kid, so I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable the oldies still are!!

I took the younger ones to see the new version this afternoon. It's fabulous!

A bit scary in places but so good.

Has anyone else seen it yet?

The warning says mild peril but I had two moments when I was shocked and so did one of the kids. Very little ones might find it difficult.

The boy playing Mowgli, Neel Sethi, was very good, given he was acting on his own against a green screen with the odd puppet. If you don't like snakes Kaa will be difficult to watch.

We enjoyed it so much the whole car journey home was spent discussing it.

I have not seen it yet, but they interviewed the new guy on the one show who was the main character and showed few bits of it and it looks good. I will go and see it soon as well x.

That is right they did and as well they showed a snake on the show, they touched it, would you touch it too? I would of just try it once and see how it felt, the texture of it.

I took my just-turned-8- year-old last night.

We both thought it was brilliant. A couple of jumpy moments for her, particularly in the temple but otherwise fine. Idris Elba makes a great Shere Khan.

I think it compliments the original perfectly.
