I have to look to get married or find some one some day when i'm in my late 20's or early 30's to get married to, I hope by then I have my shit together and don't fuck it up...
knowing my family though and their friends it will be a large sized event probably 200 or 250 people in attendance who they would invite, half of them I probably wouldn't even know. |

"We eloped to Vegas baby. Can't stand a fuss and being centre of a attention....plus couldn't afford a massive wedding and include all."

you have no idea.....either that or most of them in attendance would be family friends etc or acquaintances, get's a bit hard sometimes as I get older people in the family are more and more asking me about the day I'll meet a nice decent girl and marry her..

I doubt I'll do it again. Would take someone very special.
We went to Gretna - 42 of us in total & I loved every minute. I'm from a huge family (mum & dad are both 1 of 8 children) & I have step-parents too so couldn't invite everyone. I wanted to marry in Scotland. |

"I had a small wedding the first time round, it was all done really quick if I had my time again, I'd want the big wedding with a proper wedding dress"
Mine will be small what ever I choose to do. I would wear a wedding dress regardless too |

We got married at The Mill Forge in Kirkpatrick Fleming. It was all very easy. We had a religious service to keep his parents & my grandparents happy (& it was cheaper than a civil service!!!)
There is a website with so much info & so many venues but I loved the feel of this place & the grounds were lovely. We had the full works too & saved a fortune compared to doing it locally |

I will check it out.
I always thought Greyna was a place you could just rock up to and get married, but like Vegas |

"My. Choice is no wedding
"
That would be my choice too. I believe in love. Love is all you need and all that.
A bit of paper saying you're married, spending thousands of pounds for one day of nonsense, surrounding yourself with a load of people you don't really care for that much isn't my idea of fun. Plus I couldn't do the whole church thing, being an atheist I don't really want to associate with them if I can help it.
Sorry OP. Feel free to send me an invite to yours though |

I had wanted a small intimate wedding with no more than around 20 people as I hate being the centre of attention and being looked at, but it ended up being around 115
I really wish I'd been more firm about my wishes. |

You still have to give 14/15 days notice. We booked 18 months in advance as we (I) wanted to get married on the Saturday closest to the day we met in July & it was also my favourite (but deceased) aunt's birthday |

"My. Choice is no wedding
Same here although other half keeps hinting. lol wouldn't matter how much someone hinted I'm not changing my choices for anyone"
I've been married before, he hasn't. I have no intention of changing my mind but his ego (he's a Jason Statham lookalike) I'm more Monique than Beyonce, makes him believe he's the catch of the century and no way am I going to turn him down...Bless! |

We had 12 people at our wedding, and it was perfect for us.
My friend who is getting married this summer in NY is having 400 people at hers. And it will be a 2-day gig. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

Two maids of honour, eight bridesmaids, two flower girls, one page, 600 guests first time round.

Sounds perfect. I can't get my head around why anyone would want to invite hundreds of people! People seem to forget about the basic premise of why they're actually doing it. |

I've got to say the whole marriage thing isn't my cup of tea, but at what point do people feel the can't say no when the details get out of control?
And why keep other people happy on your day?
As for people asking if I am they get a shock when I tell them it's not for me |

Our wedding was amazing, intimate perfect and cheap
Just us and our nearest and dearest for a beautiful ceremony with our own vows and then for a meal at our favourite restaurant on the afternoon. That evening it was just the 2 of us we went for a walk, enjoyed a baileys hot chocolate. Was romantic and perfect
We had a party afterwards for our friends but I would have been happy just for the first part |
