I'd like to but I rarely see him. He's a total star and signs my recorded deliveries for me so I don't have to go to the sorting office.

I think maybe I'll need to figure out something.

Titz Towers, North Notts

He get's a card and £10. He then signs for things and leaves them where I wish, saving me a lot of trouble. This works well for all parties.

No, he's a dick, but the bin men in the other hand, they get the first round of drinks when they finish for the holidays on me, same goes for the recycling lads, it's amazing how much rubbish that they shouldn't take, just disappears for the next 52 weeks

Nope, when I get back from work I regularly have to repost at least one of the letters that have come through my door through one of the neighbours, and he walks across my grass rather than down the steps/drive when he has posted everyone else's post through my door!

No. I've fallen out with him after he left something in my general waste bin & I had to fish it out. Disgusting.

I used to with the last postman though - he was lovely but also my uncle

I won't be giving my postie a Christmas tip other than to ask him to re check the addresses on the post he puts through my letter box as he frequently puts other peoples post through my letter box ! I also have had many letters that i am expecting go missing so possibly they are put through someone elses letter box ! Not good !

Offen he doesn't bother to knock the door when he has a parcel to deliver to me, he just puts the postcard through telling me i wasn't in (yes i was!) and to collect it from the post office the next day !

Dreadful service so no tip.

No chance ours is a nightmare, he won't carry the parcels and just puts the slips through when we are in. The other day Paul saw him outside, he handed Paul the post, later as Paul was shredding the junk he found a parcel card wrapped in the junk mail. Our delivery office only opens till 12 so difficult to get things. And he's a moody old twat.

Our old postie was amazing and we always tipped him

I used to as my one was awesome! If I had a parcel and wasn't in he would take it to my mums house for me. Or he would see me walking home and dig stuff out of his bag to give me so I wouldn't miss it.

Now I rarely get the same one from one day to the next so there's no one to tip really.

BUT I will give a tip to the guy in the main post office who comes to my work for his breakfast in a morning and if ive a parcel he brings it round for me rather than send it out with the driver when im not home

Nope. In 5 years in this house I think I've seen him a handful of times. And then again, id only consider some kind of extra reward if he/she demonstrated anything that went above and beyond their remit to personally benefit me. Sorry, not very Christmassy

The post is do you tip your postman. My answer is no as I've yet to see him before three. If you're then suggesting I collect my own post...doesn't open before eight...I'm already at work, closes at noon...when I'm still at work, then he obviously doesn't deserve a tip!

not since ours didn't see a problem with leaving a passport in the porch and had ignored the secure mail box he normally leaves post in..

matter not that it was recorded and meant to be signed for..
