We forum regulars have all seen the re-occurring posts about how apparently rude and Ignorant it is not replying to messages. We also see the regular Discussion of how no-one seems to read profiles or do and chance messaging anyway. This leads me to draw one conclusion that if these things truely represent ignorance and rudeness, then they go hand in hand and Ignorance breeds Ignorance!

If you'd like to not have a message ignored then don't ignore a profile write up and only message if you're what the person(s) are specifically looking for, surely it's simple logic? Yet so commonly unused by many

Mini Rant/Discussional topic raised. So what are people's thoughts on this particular issue?

I agree entirely, I do get frustrated when I see people go on about none profile readers I want to shout out "I do". There has been many occasions when I've been looking at someone and get to a part where I don't fit and think "ah well, that's a shame" I then move on without bothering them. Pity more people arn't the same.

It is a site where the primary interaction is via messaging.

It is a site where the rules are, no response is a response.

Women are not going to activate filters, so will continue to complain

Men are not going to read everyone's profiles and will complain

People are not going to stop joining, & will always think this is a shag & go site

The cycle will continue

This is an area where I struggle to care now. I don't really care enough to be arsed to answer messages if I don't want to. I don't really care that much if someone wants to call me ignorant for that.

I do dislike the fact the word ignorant appears to have been adopted in everyday life to mean the same as rude or discourteous. If you want to say someone is rude, just say they're rude, why the need to appropriate another word which meant something different.

Behaviour breeds behaviour to be honest.

I find the comments quite antagonistic, so what if people make new threads up etc etc.

Same as if someone chooses not to read my profile a polite no thanks doesn't hurt anyone.

It's a public forum so the same topics are bound to come up again, mods often direct to other posts rather than have two going about the same topic.

If you see one ignore it rather than patronise with the 'the regs of the forum' crap.

Comments like that are why some users of the forum feel the can be a clique etc.

Lots of people use the forum on a regular basis doesn't make than any different to some one on fab that only uses it once in a while.

Expecting a topic to be over is like expecting a new born baby to run because Eusain Bolt knows how to.

Everything is a new experience to those that haven't worked at it or through it.

Expect topics to return.

If people don't reply to your message just put it down to you might not be for them, No point in getting wound up or stressed out about it, It's only an email and there are plenty of other Fab people on Fab.

That's My two-penneth anyway, I'm on here to have a laugh and hopefully some sexy fun, If I message someone and they don't reply that's their choice and don't think about it again. To many other interesting and hot people to chat, have banter and possibly have sexy fun with.

Have Fun and Happy Swinging. x

Back where I belong

I had a prime example this morning. A guy messages me to say, " have you had any meets?".

"have you read my profile?" - I have a number of verifications posted and also state I'm not currently meeting anyone new.

"yes, I've read your profile and you sound great. So how about meeting"

Needless to say I blocked and deleted. The random message senders don't bother checking profiles - so shouldn't moan when they get ignored, deleted or blocked.

Yes and I do see how my "sense of entitlement" to have my profile read and wishes within it respected could be deemed as my own "arrogance", but that really was not my intention of the post, hence the air quotes, but I'm broad minded enough to see it from that angle

I guess I feel as though there are bigger deals to worry about. I reply in pretty much the same way to everyone, in a polite, respectful manner. I do this, simply because I'm in charge of how I behave. I can choose not to be rude or ignorant.

I rarely get abuse, I could probably count on one hand the nasty messages I've received in ten years. I have no filters, I have no-one on my block list and I have no ban history. I don't moan about shite on the forums and I leave other people to get on with their swinging in the way that suits them. It's perfect for me. I don't allow the way other people behave to have an effect on me.

It wasn't a dig at anyone in particular, rather a comment on the dynamics of a site.

It is set up for community use, but is primarily used to individual advantage.

So, by default, there will always be an element of disharmony amongst the users.

Ok, rants in various forms about messages occur daily.

Content of message, lack of content, the way innocent messages are phrased, why don't people read my profile.

Its never going to bloody change no matter how much people rant.

This is a site linked to sex but if you where anywhere else with some kind of advert you'd still get messages you don't like.

How many people have had messages from people who haven't read the advert when selling goods.

How many employers get replies from people who are not in the least bit suitable for the job.

Now I get my fair share of stupid messages, people who haven't read my profile, fancy a fuck messages, but really the majority have read it.

I ignore the ones I have no interest in and respond to the ones I am.

If it was a problem I'd change what I was doing or set all my filters and go looking myself.

I actually wonder what people would do if every message they received completly fitted their criteria, how would you sort through your messages then.
