sorry to start a new thread on an old subject, but watching it now, what a cost to us this guy is, before i saw the program then i was sorry for him now having seen it im not, says alot when your only friend is from the salvation army, and all your family have disowned you......
ps am i the only one to think his carer is abit fit lol |

strange that an overweight chap could be fattist.
however, the public pay for many folk with many illnesses.....like drug addicts, alcoholics, smokers.
we don't draw the line at who is entitled and i wouldn't want to.
i see families lose members of their family because of the whole 'postcode wars' that seems to be the current mode of choosing who does and who doesn't receive treatment....i won't be judging who should and who shouldn't get it.
...and how sad that he has lost everyone because of it.
empathy is clearly on the decline...wonder what the treatment for that will cost? |

you didn`t appreciatte how much the care may well cost to `us` until you`d watched the programme,although you then hoist your own petard by claiming a little later that you do know the cost of care....
You`ve lost any regard for him because he doesn`t have friends......

because hes not of that breed, he has been disabled for many years and has made provisions for that, why should he expect the state to pay???????????????????????????????????????????????????????? |

watched this programme and thought why should he not get the help and care he needs..
the only thing i dont understand is why have they not helped him sooner.. that sure would have saved a lot of money..

Some people are fat, some people smoke, some are drug addicts and yet we take care of them all. And I like it that way, I'd rather my taxes go to the NHS than to bail out banks.
Fair play to the people who do go private if they can afford to as it takes some of the burden off the NHS. But I don't think people who can't afford care should be deprived of it. |

at present it costs half a billion a year for the NHS to treat people with conditions relating to being overweight.........and its estimated that it will cost more and more in years to come as more and more people are overweight these days.
yes being overweight in the majority of cases is down to overeating......but in many of these cases there may be an underlying reason why they are doing this! early intervention is required but in this day and age of being PC then the doctor cant say that you are putting on too much weight and tell you that you are fat!!

My only concern is when the stupid fat fuck dies how many trees will they have to cut down to make a coffin big enough to bury the fooker in.
(and yes, I watched the prog too and the guy is facetious and self centred to the extreme) |

People love to bring "pc" into everything!!!  . As someone who is morbidly obese doctors DO tell you you're fat and need to lose it: they do stress MORBID frequently and offer help left, right and centre, but they can't MAKE you!
I haven't taken a blind bit of notice in 30 years. My consultant even offered me a gastric band which I refused, if I wanted to lose weight I would!
What has made me decide to lose weight was a throw away comment my doctor made. Instead of every ailment being weight related he said "these thing happen at your age!"  It may seem strange but all the time they were saying "weight, weight" I knew I could change things by losing weight but didn't want to. There is NOTHING I can do about my age, so that galvanised me into doing something about it.
Plus, my daughter is getting married and I don't want to be a fat mother of the bride! 
That's why this man annoys me, he ignored the help but is now suing the NHS!  |

The problem in this country is that nobody in a position of authority is brave enough to tell this bloke to get stuffed (sic).
They're too frightened of being sued themselves and that would put the brakes on a glittering political career. |
