yes i do but it aint ever going to happen and its not just us poor motorist paying the price theres a lot of firms that will go to the wall as well becauce of it. |

No body ever thought the price of fuel would ever reach a £1 a litre, now look at it , we was in north wales yesterday £1.33 pl for derv, criminal, and in answer to your original question yes it should be below a £1. |

Another good point too, where is it gonna end there are only so many times you can add fuel prices to recover costs like us we cant keep adding it to our prices as in the end no one will pay for it so you end up going into liquidation. |

That's more like it, he he , we are considering making our own diesel from cooking oil, the kit costs about £150 odd quid off the top of me head, if you can get used cooking oil and strain it before you process it it costs 8p a litre, if you buy the cooking oil and do it that way it costs 80p a litre, under the law you can make 2,500 litres tax free for your own use, the only reason people don't is they can't be bothered, but at savings like that i would be bothered. |

"That's more like it, he he , we are considering making our own diesel from cooking oil, the kit costs about £150 odd quid off the top of me head, if you can get used cooking oil and strain it before you process it it costs 8p a litre, if you buy the cooking oil and do it that way it costs 80p a litre, under the law you can make 2,500 litres tax free for your own use, the only reason people don't is they can't be bothered, but at savings like that i would be bothered."
Have you ever been behind a car running on used cooking oil it smells like a chippy. |

In theory it will definately reach a tenner a litre, its just a question of when really. 2030 or 2012?
Afraid I can't remember it breaking the £1 a gallon mark as the car I drove at the time needed no petrol. But that was cos it was made of plastic and only ever manually pushed around my playpen. |

Two portions of fish and chips please and a carton of mushy pea's, Just to correct the kit is closer to £300 quid, but still a good deal if you make it for 8p per litre, soon pay for itself, and i think the chemicals you add to it remove that chip shop smell. |

lol,well in ireland its about 1,39 a litre,i think,normally just stick 20 quid in,,,but it still will keep goin up,and its the oldr cars people will be buying,cheaper insurance,cheaper tax,etc |

saw on tv this morn a guy running an electric powered new mini from london to scotland .before he left he gave some facts about the car.he said the car needed charging for 10 hrs and for that he got a max of 110 miles but when factoring in cold weather it went down to 80 miles and using the heater will use another 10 miles worth of electric  .if this is called progress i wanna go back to the stone age.if they ever do make an electric car thats fit for todays fast paced world the poor feckers that are buying these impractical cars at 30k a pop are going to be left with a car that are completely worthless |

I've been running on straight veg oil for several years now with no modifications to my car. yes it smells like a bad barbeque but at 75p a litre I can put up with that. Anyone using waste oil be very careful its not just a matter of straining it you also need to remove the water content also you have to keep a log of the amount of veg oil you have used for customs and excise they are very harsh on people caught using veg without keeping records (similar penalties to using red diesel). |

Thanks leedscouple, was just trying to be symplistic about it lol, do you produce your own or do you buy clean cooking oil and then process it, what vehicle do you use it in, we've yet to check if my 99 2.5 transit will run on it. |

You have to be very carefull about veg oil fuels in some very modern cars as the electronics in some injection pumps don`t like it one little bit! I have thrown the odd can of NEW veg oil in my Disco, mixed with diesel with no problems at all but then my Disco does have a PROPER injection pump with cable controls!
BTW When I first started in the motor trade in 1973, 4* was 35 pence a gallon! |

Fuels gone up by about 13% in a year.
If I put my prices up like that i would have no customers!
As it is, when the April budget comes and fuel goes up AGAIN! I will have no option but to pass a rise on to my customers, and if they whinge, I will point out that I held off for four months and they are lucky!! |

We used to run our Hilux Surf on 50/50 diesel and cooking oil from Netto.
The buggers seemed to get wise though and index linked it with diesel price rises.
That's probably why the price of cooking oil has risen in the last 2 years or so.  
Got an Astra Diesel Estate now, does about three times the mileage than the Hilux!

if you want to start using cooking oil as fuel you have to register with customs n excise and you will be charged duty or when you get stopped and your tank dipped to check fuel you will b prosecuted and the gov will determine how much they think you owe them in duty.....also as stated earlier in thread be careful what type of diesel engine you use it in some new deisels will destroy themselves with biodeisel |

Well, first time in my life, I had think about how much petrol to put in the car.
I have to take Ian to hospital every day. its 40 mile run there and 40 miles back.
Plus the buggers charge you car park as well.
With another 4-5 weeks of this ( we been told) and I think i hav to sell the car and get a push bike with side car LOL.

Not quite right if you use straight veg oil you need to keep a record of how much you use but dont need to register.If you make biodiesel from veg oil you need to register with customs and excise as you still have to pay duty as you are now classed as a fuel producer.Before the law changed you had to register straight veg oil and pay duty on all oil used strangely if you poured the oil into your fuel tank from its original container the duty payable was 28p per litre however if you put it in another container first even if you didnt mix it with anything the duty rate was 47p per litre. I have run my hiluxsurf on 100% veg oil in summer but mix diesel in with it as the weather gets colder it will not harm any diesel engine but may harm the fuel system Ie pumps or injectors usually bosch systems are fine with veg but cav and lucas systems struggle with it due to the composition of the material used in the seals. I have owned my hiluxsurf for 6 years and have run it on veg oil for 5 years apart from the smell of the exhaust it runs smoother on veg oil than on diesel. |

Look up Gerald Celente on youtube. He is a trends forecaster. You will see how bad things are going to get and how high the price of a barrel of oil is going to. What Gerald talks about is frightening. Even more so considering how accurate he has been in the past. |

as usual the gov turn a blind eye because of the revenue it brings, there has been alot of talk about tax/crude prices mixing so we only pay a set amount, but nothing has been done, we are beeing screwed by our own goverment, public transport isnt a option for most, so we pay and shut up, bring on the revalution i say |
