Can't say it bothers me although I don't use the term ink myself there's a ton of tattoo shops that have it in the shop name so it can't bother the tattooists much either

If a large group of people call it "ink" then it becomes ink in the vernacular of the day...

Sometimes you have to accept that a large part of life is totally out of your control.

The most spoken word in the world is "bad English" so if your speaking "good English" your not really communicating.

If it was skin pigment that's changed you'd just have a scar. There is ink now in your skin.

calling tattoos ink just reminds me of stealing a bottle of Indian ink from the art class at school,, and being very artistic with a sewing needle and tattooing a dot on your hand,,you wouldn't think you could go far wrong with that,,, believe me,,you can

I looked at getting my chameleon done with uv ink in the design so it would change under black light.

Three tattooists I asked refused as they didn't consider the ink safe.

No, the ink is still there. The solvent element that carries the pigment may be displaced with natural moisture but the ink is still there.

And.... there's nothing that says "ink is a liquid" inks can be many things such as powders or wax.

This is fundementaly not true.

Human skin does not suddenly start making multicoloured skin pigments because ink was once forced into it.

I've heard most refuse it, the dude who does mine said he wouldn't do it when I asked about it.

Says a lot when three separate artists have turned you down, try a bedroom butcher they'll probably do it for a fiver

I've just been looking closely at mine and it definitely looks like ink.

They took hours to do as the pushed more and more ink in to make them bold and bright.

They larger areas of block colour actually look shiny and I've been asked if they're real before.

Skin pigment is the natural colour of your skin, melanin can change this colour. Ink is injected under the skin into the dermis, the tattoo is on/in your dermis. The pigment is unaffected by tattoo inks but can affect how the tattoo looks, eg. white skin shows colour better than dark skin.

Your skin is see through if you don't have any melanin in it, without that layer of fat you'd be able to see all sorts in your body, which would be cooler than tattoos tbh.
