Deep in the bosom of the gentle night

Is when I search for the light

Pick up my pen and start to write

I struggle, fight dark forces

In the clear moon light

Without fear... insomnia

I can't get no sleep

I used to worry, thought I was goin' mad in a hurry

Gettin' stress, makin' excess mess in darkness

No electricity, something's all over me, greasy

Insomnia please release me and let me dream of

Makin' mad love to my girl on the heath

Tearin' off tights with my teeth

But there's no release, no peace

I toss and turn without cease

Like a curse, open my eyes and rise like yeast

At least a couple of weeks

Since I last slept, kept takin' sleepers

But now I keep myself pepped

Deeper still, that night I write by candle light

I find insight, fundamental movement, uh

So when it's back this insomniac take an original tack

Keep the beast in my nature under ceaseless attack

I gets no sleep

I can't get no sleep

I can't get no sleep

I can't get no sleep

I need to sleep, although I get no sleep

I need to sleep, although I get no sleep

Back where I belong

I've learned to go with the flow - I've given up trying to force myself to sleep. If I wake now I listen to music, read or log on to fab, usually within 30 minutes I'm asleep again.......probably to wake up again a couple of hours later.

The upshot is don't fight it xx

I feel your pain, I cant remember the last time I had a full nights sleep.

Had about 2 hours last night and I'm doing 12 hour shifts today and tomorrow.

I hope you get some shut eye soon

Happy Saturday. xx

I feel all your pain.

You need to try different relaxation techniques, switch off electronics before going bed, don't drink anything within 2 hours of sleeping etc.

Oh and having a naughty play before bed may help too

This is what i started doing. Although if i'm still tired sometimes i'll just lie there and carry on resting.

And the thing is they only work for a certain length of time.

If I wake up early hours - I just do something soft, reading, Internet and so on. It really is best not to fight it, then your body clock adjusts accordingly and settles into a pattern that suits you.

I have to be up at five in the mornings - this works for me somehow
