near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack! |
Before you all turn off, this isn`t swinging related!
My Mum had some junk mail delivered today. Nothing new there but what was in it made me rather angry.
Said junk mail was from Damart, best known for their thermal clothing. As per usual, they were offering free gifts with your purchased but the "vouchers" for the free gifts were printed as "important documents" and enclosed in a minature plastic "attache case" which honestly only serves one perpose, namely contributing to the mountain of stuff that goes to landfill! I`m amazed that companies are being so irresponsible in wasting materials in this way, not only with the eviromental impact but cost wise too!
I`ll be sending this crass piece of tat back to them in their own pre-paid envelope.
Rant over! |

*Runs off to check age on profile. Points and laughs because they`ve targeted the wrong age group. Runs back.*

What one of my friends does is use the pre-paid envelope and puts a lot of stuff in it (paper that is!) and sends it back to them.
If enough people do this it will become cost ineffective for them!
Plus you can put a note in letting them know what you think! |

Someone else I heard of keeps the contents of one envelope back and puts it in the envelope of the next one and so on! |

what we used to do, is to grab a cardboard box, and fill it with any sorta household rubbish. Tape it up, then cut out the pre paid envelope bit and tape it to the box and take it to the post office.
oh, and sign a piece of paper and pop it inside that says, if you want to send us your rubbish, then we shall send you ours |

Recycle it instead if it bothers you that much.
Use it for a purse.
Sending it back costs petrol, stamp, paper and other things...... you are increasing your footprint.

Alternatively, tape the pre paid envelope to an Argos catalogue and send it back to them. They'll have to collect it from the post office and pay the extra postage
