Here we go. And here come all the comments to go along with it when somebody simply asks a question.

Been in a loving swinging relationship for 2 1/2 years and sadly broke up about 2 months back.

Lost my business recently and now contemplating bankcrupcy.

Has anyone been in a similar situation, I just can't seem to pick myself up from it..... No not feeling sorry for myself just asking if anyone has been through a similar situation.

Please don't post nasty negative things, all I want is advice xxxx

Speak to your doctor. there's a lot of emotional support out there, you can refer yourself for it.

A lot of people have made it through what you're experiencing. You will too

Edinburgh.

Put yourself first. Everything else can fuck off. Be the centre of your own universe. Make this a catalyst for change.

Can I make myself bankrupt if I have sweet FA and debts that just appear out of nowhere?

"Can I make myself bankrupt if I have sweet FA and debts that just appear out of nowhere?"

You have to apply for a bankruptcy order. It's a year long process, and it's not easy going.

Also, debts don't just appear. Seek help with your spending. CAB can advise.

Its from over paid tax credits 5 years ago when I was with my ex. But I only received first letter today stating this is a final warning

Advice on what?

Breaking up socks the big one and hurts like hell but if it was the right thing to do then good things will come.

Never been made bankrupt myself but know someone who has been ad they are now a very successful accountant so although it is a big deal it isn't necessarily a life ruining moment.

Focus on you for a while. Don't jump into any rebound situations and get proper advice on the bankruptcy.

Then call them and talk it over. They'd rather you paid than take you to court. If it was a mistake on their part, they'll possibly show leniency.

I'd speak to the CAB before talking to anyone.

I was with someone for 22 years. Even though it was the right thing to do, and long overdue, when I left him my world seemed to collapse around me.

Emotional and financial problems galore. My best friend said at the time "it won't always be this bad". I believed her as she's always right

I'm now over 4 years on and life has been great for at least a couple of years.

So OP, you will get through it, life will be good again and you'll forget the bad times. The trick now is to allow yourself to look after yourself properly.

And if that means seeing the GP or getting advice elsewhere then do it

They can be fantastic or crap depending on the office, so if you don't feel confident try another office
