Normally the weekend before and down before new year

But this year I'm really not feeling it. So can't decide whether to not bother or put them up earlier to try and feel more festive.

Never now that kids grown up , hopefully the grand kids won't want me to put one up either

I don't understand the need to make the home look like a North Pole brothel once a year the blue tack and drawing pins ruin the walls .

My 1st year without the ex my stepdad went up in my loft & got my tree down. He refused to leave until I'd put it up for the boys. It was up for 8 days in total.

I don't have decorations, and my first year after moving out I was working Xmas Eve and boxing day and relied on public transport, so I spent Xmas day alone getting d*unk

I hate the run up to Christmas (which is a marathon) purely because it's dragged out over three months.

Once it gets to a week or so before I warm up to the idea, we haven't got room for a big tree so will probably have a small one up about a week or two before.

Sorry to hear that, my guess would be some lowlife gang doing it as a "trademark"

The tree stays up all year round. We'll change the decorations on it every holiday. ( Champaign corks and party favors for New Years, Hearts for valentines day, eggs and bunnies for Easter.) You get the idea.

Quite right - it's daft to put up decorations during Advent which is quite a solemn season really.

They stay up until 12th night.
