Has anyone's special carrier drawer become waaaaaay too full?
I always seem to buy a "bag for life" then put it in my drawer for another time, then forget to bring it with me, then buy a bag for life..... Wash rinse and repeat |

Bollocks to it, they tend to leave them out , and when through the self serve checkouts just enter '0 Bags'
Least it doesn't bark 'THIS SHOPPER IS USING HIS OWN BAGS' rather like the 'UNEXPECTED ITEM IN BAGGING AREA' when trying to have a cheeky kit-Kat without paying !!

My carrier bag stocks are dwindling massively. I use them as rubbish bags, and now i don't get them free I don't get them. I already have bags for life, and I did before the carrier bag charge, I just use more of them now if i'm doing a bigger shop. |

Find a place that states they donate the money taken by selling carrier bags to charity,as per the conditions, if they state they donate, they're liable if they don't
On the premise of not all shops charging, if the business employs in excess of 200 people, they have to by law, otherwise, it's optional |

"The bag drawer I have has dropped drastically in value. £120,000 down to 75p "
As oiled shaft says, sure the value has increased with a bag charge. So 75p worth of bags means you now only have 15 bags? |

I tend to forget to take a bag which really annoys me when I realise.
I hate it to be honest, it's not the same buying a really nice item, maybe a gorgeous dress or shoes and having to put them in an Asda bags for life bag.

I just get more bags, I'm really not bothered! I'm not going to carry bags around with me in my pockets all day just to save me 5 pence.
If people really resent giving 5p to charity every time they go shopping theres something wrong |

I always forget mine. I often walk home from the shop with a carton of milk in one pocket, dog food in the other, toilet roll in one hand, sugar in the other and a loaf of bread balanced on my head. |

I have a floor covered in them, well my ex does, I can't be arsed to pick them all up! He's one of these that just chucks them in the corner of the kitchen.
I saw a hiker the other day with bags on his feet, that's expensive shoes! |

"I have three rolled up carrier bags in my handbag, I suddenly felt grown up
Do you have an elastic band around each one keeping the rolled up?"
Use a used toilet roll tube. Push 2 or 3 in without issue.
In a drawer at home I used to have 10 kitchen roll tubes stuffed to the gunwales.
Now they are empty and forlorn. |

In Northern Ireland we've had this charge for a few years. It's wonderful. The drains round here always used to block with waste plastic bags. Now no problem and there's much less litter. I was sceptical but now I'm a fan |

Don't be too proud. It is a top tip.
The kitchen roll tubes can be used to conceal a dildo as well. |

Why would anyone want 'a bag for life' as a constant reminder of their own mortality, knowing that the wretched thing will still be hanging around at their funeral. ..no ...I want a bag just for the here and now, knowing the bottom will drop out or it will be out with the trash before I am... |

"I have three rolled up carrier bags in my handbag, I suddenly felt grown up
There's room in your handbag? Shocked.
There's a small carrier bag sized space beside the kitchen sink. "
Next to the giant dildo? Or did you manage to get rid of it?

Its inside a box, inside a suitcase in the loft it is FAR too big for my hand bag. We had to move with it because we didn't want to put it in the dustbin although we did toy with the idea of putting it in our neighbours |

Who needs bags? By the way, I'll be the one walking out of Tescos having paid £200 for my shop and leaving £100 worth of it just because I thought I could play shopping Tetris |

Get an Onya!
I have the same bag for life with carrier bags in that I had before the charge. It's typically the bags from clothes shops. They've been sitting there waiting to be used for about 5 years.
I've only taken plastic bags when the shopping has exceeded the capacity of my Onya, canvas and jute bags.
I might use No Winks' idea of a loo roll middle to tidy up my bag of bags. |

We have had the charge in ireland for years don't let the bag for life fool you, they don't last and fall apart after a few uses then end up in the bin. I pop a roll of plastic carrier bags into my handbag and take one off the roll in the shops to bring my shopping home I then reuse the bag in one of the waste baskets at home |

I will show them. I won't buy them and will try to carry everything in my arms. Then proceed to drop loads and then have to kick it to the back of my car. Then take 15 trips to get it into the house and eat squashed food. Who's the fool now hey! |

Remember a lot of those plastic bags degrade after a while - take some of your old lot back to the shops and get them to swap them over for new ones, before it's too late.
And just take a trolley from the store checkout - no bags - and shove it in your car, ot get the Mrs to push it home, whilst your snuggle up in it, scoffing some of the stuff you've just bought and having a beer. 5p for a bag or a free trolley - it's a no brainer. |

Apparently if you've bought a bag for life then the shop you got it from replaces it for free. That could save a few people some money. |

Well the word from the supermarkets is hand baskets are going missing like nobody business. But now you pay for your bag it's covered by the sales of goods act. Should it develop a fault take it back and demand a refund. |
