pictures auto delete on being read

We have used this faculty while sending face pics a few times. But have noticed on our account that the pictures are still there for us to see after the message has been opened. Do this work for others? |

I asked admin about this once. They said it stays on the sent message for 24hrs in case the recipient wants to look at it again. It actually states that it disappears when read though.
This is why I no longer take part in Face Pic Fridays etc  |

"I thought a photo was deleted on being read with this facility. I shan't be doing any more face pic Friday's either. 
It's definitely not. If I send a pic now when I see it's been read I remove it myself. You can do that when you're a platinum member   "

Theres a post from Admin on another thread about this:
If, from browsing your sent mail, you delete the pic using the link which says "remove photo from message", it does just that and the attachment is removed
If when you're attaching a photo and you tick the box that says "Remove photos from message shortly after it's read (improved privacy)" then system automatically removes the attachment once the message has been read (within 24hrs).

I thought it deleted automatically as well. There's me rethinking fpf.
